Chances..Brown, Barnard, Wash. U

Hi I was hoping someone could help me to gauge my chances at getting into my 3 "top" schools....
I had wanted to apply to Brown early decision, but I have been advised not to so....too much of a reach school. I am now considering Barnard as my ED school, but Brown remains my favorite...
I should also note that my situation is slightly complicated as my high school career has been divided between two schools: 2 years at a private prep. school in California; 2 years at an international IB school in Europe.

California prep school stats:
unweighted - 3.95 cum gpa, highest semester 4.04 (almost unheard of at my school)
school didn't offer AP classes, but took many honors classes offered, i.e french, journalism, etc.

IB stats:
end of y12 predicted grades: 38-39 ( At HL [higher level] I take Math, English Literature, History, and Chemistry. At SL [standard level] I take French and Physics

Boards:
I've only taken the ACT/SAT one time each with very little prep. (tutors are not easily found as I'm living abroad). I plan to take each at least one more time, hopefully with slight improvement.
SAT 2050
ACT comp. = 31

EC's:
My EC's are pretty good, could be better the last two years, but it's difficult to get into things when you're living in a foreign country and don't have a firm grasp on the native language...:/

Any thoughts? What are my chances?

I know my post is long, but I have no college counselor, etc. to advise me on anything, I’d really appreciate advice!!

anyone, please?

bump, please I’d really value opinions, even if it’s just a flat out, “apply elsewhere.”

One person? Anyone? Y/N?

I would really appreciate a reply! Thanks so much!

Anyone here old enough to vote in the coming presidential elections?

I think you’re in at UWash, as for the others, I am not sure, hopefully more people here will help you along. I am not old enough to vote until next March btw

I agree… Wash U, and likely Barnard. Apply Brown ED. You never know. If Brown doesn’t accept you, you’ll have the other 2 on RD

Thanks for the advice. Brown is not to risky of a basket to lay my eggs in? lol sorry for the terrible analogy!

Hey I want to go to Brown too! I’m applying RD there. I’m an international student as well, don’t really have a conselor but a great teacher who helps me… Here are my stats

I’m half Swiss half Japanese, I have lived in France for the past year and I have my French Baccalaureate Mention Tr

Nina, I do not believe a predicted 38 or 39 will get you into Brown. Generally, what I hear is, one needs a 40+ for the Ivies. Which is what, five 6s? Also, I am not clear, are you looking for a chance on WUSTL (in St Louis) or U of Washington? WUSTL is similar to the Ivies, very difficult to get in with a 38 or 39.

hunbun, I cannot comment on your education except to say, your SAT and SAT Subject tests suggest you are a strong student.

Nine:

You’re going to have to do much better than a"slight improvement" on the SAT to be competitive for Brown, Barnard and Wash U. About 200 points and you would be competitive. Or a 33-34+ACT

Thanks for the advice, and good luck to those who are applying! Any tips to bolster my app?
