Chances...can someone tell me my reaches/matches?

Hi, I'm a Chinese senior at a very competitive school in New Jersey.

Rank: 6/510 w/ gpa of 4.57/4.60 (weighted), 3.833/4.0 unweighted (i think)
I took demanding course schedules throughout hs and this year I have:
AP Economics
AP U.S. Govt.
AP Calc BC
AP French
AP English Lit. and Comp.
Honors Physics
Physical Education (Requirement for all 4 years)

SAT: 800 Critical Reading, 800 Math, 680 Writing
SAT II: 760 Math IIC, 730 U.S. History, ? French (Don't no how I did, thk god only for princeton...)
AP: 4 on U.S. History

Awards:
NHS
Who's Who in American HS Students
Shield and Key award
National Honor Roll
All-American Scholar
French Honor Society

EC/Hobbies:
French Club Treasurer
Volunteer at local hospital (170 or 180 + hours)
Homeroom Representative for two years
Junior Statesmen of America Head of Decorations
Math League
Dancing

My French teacher recommendations should be great b/c I always visit her and stuff. My U.S. history teacher's rec should be pretty good too but probably not as great as my French teacher. I don't know how my math teacher's recommendation is going to be...

I'm on my way with the essays...not much progress because I try too hard to be unique, but I think the end results will be pretty good essays.

So anyways, I was wondering what r my chances in the business programs in teh following schools:
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor - Ross (I wrote a pretty funny essay about chpsticks and spoons here)
University of Chicago
Princeton
University of Pennsylvania - should I apply to Wharton?
Dartmouth
Washington University in St. Louis
Penn-State - Honors Program
University of Virginia
Cornell University
Carnegile Mellon
Lehigh
NYU
UNC at chapel hill - I think I raped myself here, my essays had like two glaring typos (god i want to kill myself)
Boston College
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
BUnch of mediocre schools: Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin-Madison

So can some1 please give me a reach/match thing and calm my nerve-wracked soul?

Any1? pls help me

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor - Ross (Unpredictable...depends on your essay/business-EC's. But your stats are right in the range, keep in mind they only accepted 95 students last year, but your a Safe Match / Match to LSA)
University of Chicago - Match / Slight Reach (Write good essays and your in)
Princeton - Reach (well it is for everyone)
University of Pennsylvania - should I apply to Wharton? (If your majoring in business, then why not. I'd say it's a Slight Reach / Reach)
Dartmouth - Match / Slight Reach
Washington University in St. Louis - Match
University of Virginia - Match
Cornell University - Match
Carnegile Mellon - Match
Lehigh - Safe Match
NYU - Match
UNC at chapel hill - Match / Slight Reach (OOS)
Boston College - Match / Safe Match
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign - Safe Match
Wisconsin - Madison - Safe Match / Match

While your SAT scores are obviously outstanding, your extra curriculars are too ordinary for schools like Princeton. They dont show any passion or leadership and it will be hard to stand out from the other applicants. In addition the 150 hours volunteering in a hospital has to have some type of connection to your interests and application. The other schools on your list you could definitely get into and may be offered merit money.

thks for the responses guys. calmed myself a little ;) but I have just a few more questiosn

Wharton: I heard you NEED some busines oriented things to get in here, like internships or stuff like that and, by those standards, its might be even harder to get in than Princeton. So I'm unsure whether i'm buisness oriented or not....But I plan to wirte an essay about my parents' stock addiction influence, so I don't know

Otherwise, how r my chances for the College? (Thinking about transferring once inside)

Princeton: Does applying for economics matter?

All Schools: We r talking about the BUSINESS programs right?

Wash U: How about my chances for the 7 yr business program where they give u a mba once u graduate?

UNC: Am I a match/slight reach with the glaring errors I had on essays (I mean like serious typos)? I don't wnt to spend too much of my parents money

you're applying 10 16 schools...at 60 bucks a pop...thats $960...60 bucks is a drop in the bucket

on your typos: unless you put a bad word, called the school the wrong name (as in called UNC-CH NC State), or made serious historial errors, its not a big deal...they spend 30min reading your essays, they see errors all the time

You raped yourself! My god! Can they send you to jail for that!

First things first--Rutgers, Pittsburgh, and Wisconsin-Madison are not mediocre schools

Second--the following schools have no undergraduate business programs:
University of Chicago
Princeton
Dartmouth
Washington University in St. Louis

Third:
Your grades and test scores are really good, but your ECs are really poor and your awards are nonsense. Who's Who is a scam (you pay to be listed), and none of the rest required you to actually do anything besides get decent grades. Fortunately for you, not all of the schools require much in the way of ECs/awards

For this reason your odds are as follows:
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor - Ross--match to slight reach (but you don't go into the business program until sophomore year)
University of Pennsylvania - reach
Penn-State - Honors Program--reach
University of Virginia--match
Cornell University--slight reach
Carnegie Mellon--match
Lehigh--match
NYU--match to slight reach (match for econ, slight reach for stern business)
UNC at chapel hill--match (OOS) (but you don't go into business school until junior year)
Boston College--slight reach
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign--match

As far as your essay at UNC--I wouldn't worry about it too much. They normally don't look at the essays unless you are a borderline admit--and while you are borderline at a lot of schools, you aren't at UNC- Chapel Hill.

just curious, what NJ high school, i'm from there too

njherdfan: Marlboro

Calcruzer: Penn-State's Honors Program is that hard to get into? Sure they accept like 300 but some1 with lower scores and ECs got in at my school...

lol, I know UChicago, Princeton, and Dartmouth lack business, i was talkin about their econ

And as for Wash U: Olin School of Business is there

shoebox: I finally understood what ur post meant, lol, I wasn't trying to say $60 to send the admissions in, I was saying that the tuitions at UNC are pretty low and I would like to go there so my parents wouldn't spend too much money on teh school

ah gotcha..well, then, like i said, as long as you didnt admit to killing anyone or badmouthed anything, you're fine...you can always redo it and send it in until the deadline, and YES this is fine to do

Calcruzer...I disagree on many points with you, allow me to explain my reasoning:

First, WashU DOES have a undergrad business major - http://www.olin.wustl.edu/prospective/bsba.cfm

Secondly, you CAN get into ROSS in UMich as a freshman preadmit, but his chances are low there (unless he writes amazing essays )

Thirdly, BC is not a slight reach. Average stats at BC: Combined SAT (M+CR) 1250 – 1420. I believe his 1600 puts him WELL above average. I'd say BC is a match...not a slight reach.

And...umm, I guess you can argue he's a slight reach at Stern due to his poor ECs...but personally I think it's a match :P
