<p>You really need to try and take a similar courseload, but get two more As and two less Bs this year. Then a 2000 SAT I score with two 650 SAT II scores should get you in if you have other ECs including some that have a leadership aspect to them. You also should consider whether there are any volunteer or academic competitions that you have been involved in.</p>
<p>just try to keep getting high grades and keep doing the ec's n stuff. I live in southern CA, so of course like every good student applies for UCLA. and it's weird who gets in and who doesn't. I have a friend who took 5 aps (total), had a 4.2 weighted GPA, and like a 1680ish SAT and got in. Then I have other friends who were just as qualified, if not more so, and didn't get in.</p>
<p>So what i'm getting at is, keep those stats high and cross your fingers!</p>
<p>You’ll get in, unless you bomb the SATs or get a D in a class or something. BTW, the UC system is big, really big, with lots of applicants, UCLA had 55,000 in 2009 alone. UCs don’t even want rec letters, so your essay won’t be that important either.</p>
<p>UCLA is so incredibly unpredictable when it comes to admissions. I know valedictorians who have been rejected, and people with around 3.5 GPAs who have gotten in.</p>
<p>That being said, you’re on the right track, just keep your grades up during junior year and do well on the SAT. Try to get straight A’s this year, colleges love to see an upward trend in grades.</p>
<p>You’ll probably get in. . .much easier to get in from CA, ridiculous if you’re trying from like RI or MA. . .your credentials look good, if you get what you’ve gotten projected on the SATs, good chance!!</p>

<p>In the summer of 9th and 10th, I volunteered a total of 225 hours for an organization. The rest of the summer, took classes or traveled. This summer I am going to work for a business professor (Any other suggestions that I could do for the summer?)</p>

<p>You need your GPA to be at least around 4.2, 4.3 and SAT about 2100 to have a really decent shot at getting in plus all the volunteer work and stuff. UCLA is so insanely competitive, my friends with 4.2 GPA’s got rejected from there and one of them had a 2040 SAT score, which wasn’t even good enough. So it’s hard to tell, just keep up what you’re doing and see how it goes. good luck!</p>
<p>Get a 2100+, snag some officer positions soon, most preferably a president one, do something great you can write an essay on, and keep a gpa 4.0+ (weighted).</p>

<p>So my stats were pretty okay, but def saw some people with better GPAs get turned down because of one reason or another. I should also note that UCSD rejected me, so I was probably on the lower side of LA acceptees.</p>
