chances chances...woo woo

hey, just wondering if I could get into UIUC. i'm out of state (california)

major: Electrical Engineering

overall high school GPA: 4.6 something weighted/ 3.9 something unweighted, top 4% at competitive high school

SAT: 2050 (m: 780, cr: 590, w: 680)
SATII: math (750), us history (720), physics (680), chem (650)
...yeah, not too great. just don't rub it in =/...and don't tell me to improve them, the time has already passed for taking any more tests

AP's: Calc BC (5), Physics B (4), Comp Sci A (4), US History (4), World History (4),
Studio Art 2D (3), Econ (in progress), Gov't (in progress), English Lit (in progress), Physics C (in progress)......AP Scholar w/ Distinction

significant ecs/awards/etc...:

Information Tech club president: refurbish old computers and distribute to needy students; teach students about electronics and computer components; got recognition from AVID (program for underprivileged students) and sheltered social sciences departments

Engineering Internship at Apollo Computing Labs (in India): expanded physics concepts on circuits; developed and tested an aircraft subsystem that illuminates LED's when the surrounding temperature exceeds a certain amount

SAIC Cyberdefense Challenge: computer security competition where we (as a group) learn how to protect computers and apply skills during a 4 hour test (essentially, a guy tries to hack some systems and you have to put up firewalls and passwords and stuff to avoid getting hacked)

Key Club member: random community service opportunities; mostly helped out at marathons, fairs, and coordinating crowds

Rotary Club International Award: for attending a leadership camp

Tennis: JV tennis in 10th, play tennis year round at tournaments, tennis club at school, and for fun over weekends

FEEDBACK IS MUCH APPRECIATED. =) happy new year!

I think you have a solid chance. Your SAT scores are lowish for engineering and they do not look at SAT IIs (which probably doesn't matter too much for you), but your GPA and rank is good. Assuming you write good essays and make it clear that you really want to go into engineering I think you have a solid shot at getting in.

kewl, sounds promising

btw, during which month do results come out from UIUC?

you def have a good chance
