Chances, chances

I'm usually not a fan of these chance threads, but boredom does funny things to me.

here it is..

White Male from rural-ish minnesota
ACT: 33 (34,34,32,33) with 10 writing
SATII: Math 2 790, Chem 740
Rank of 4/370
GPA 4.something.. i think its 3.98 unweighted
This year i have 7 AP classes and have taken really all that are offered at my school, although my school isnt particularily strong in the AP's... last year i got a 5 and 4 on world history and u.s. government but had to do tons and tons of supplamentary work to get those scores.. worked even harder on chem and got a 3, however i was the only AP Scholar at the school this year. My counselor's letter explains this a bit..
I have good EC's and a lot of them in different areas... varsity soccer, accomplished tuba player, nhs, peer helpers, link crew, i lead a senior tailgating club and also the prom and homecoming committees
Strong teacher recs i'd say and i feel i have a very strong essay... with one more still to go.

How's it look for Yale?

What makes you stand out in the application pool?

good question...

i couldnt tell you in terms of achievements, as i dont have anything spectacular. what types of things make an applicant stand out besides minority status, legacies, or sports for recruiting?

I will say that I think my essay will stand out and should help me out a lot. Also I'm very personable and social, which i think may stand out if i get an interview, but otherwise i have nothing exceptional besides the more common traits I'm sure they look for in everyone
