Chances @ Colby, Bates, Bowdoin

I'm going to be a senior in high school. I'm interested in Colby, Bates, and Bowdoin( also interested in playing sports, volleyball or softball, there). I'm also considering Quinnipiac as a safety. Please tell me my chances of getting into these schools.

Colby: Your SAT scores are too low. If you had an awesome essay and awesome recommendations, you might make it, but I wouldn’t count on it even with that. Retake the SAT if you haven’t done so already, or take the ACT instead. I think being recruited would help though.

Bates: Again, SAT scores are low, but don’t matter as much for this college. Your ECs should help, and you should also try raising your GPA, even during senior year.

Bowdoin: Same thing as Colby.

Quinnipiac: Yeah, this would be an adequate safety.

Your SAT scores are low for all three. Bates and Bowdoin are both SAT-optional. I’m not sure how they’ll view your GPA (which you probably want to be stellar if you aren’t submitting SAT). I would say all three are reaches. Best odds are at Bates probably because at Colby you are required to send SATs and Bowdoin is more competitive in general.

If you are interested in playing sports in college, you could try contacting coaches.
