Chances @ College of the Holy Cross

Holy Cross is my dream school but I'm worried about getting in.

-My GPA translates roughly to a 3.5, 3.6 GPA, mostly A-'s B+'s
-I got a 4 on the AP US History Exam last year
-This year's courseload: AP Spanish, AP English, AP French, AP Calculus, Mandarin, Psychology, World Religions
-Rank: 22/256
-SATs: 600 Reading, 580 Math, 630 Writing (1810 total), retaking them in October
-Varsity Swim Team all 4 years, captain senior year
-10 years of piano
-Volunteer work for Breast Cancer awareness, and at local hospital
-Participated in a few other clubs
-Lifeguard/swim instructor since February 2009
-my sister also went to Holy Cross
-applying early decision

It is my understanding that Holy Cross does not require you to submit SAT scores as part of the admission process. Your SAT scores are not bad but may not be as high as the average applicant who does submit SAT scores. You may want to do a little research and see if Holy Cross does take SAT scores into account if applicants submit them even though it is not required, and if they do, you should try to find out the average SAT scores of applicants who submitted SAT scores and were admitted to Holy Cross. I am not sure, even though my father is an alumnus of Holy Cross, whether SAT scores simply play no role in the admission process there no matter what the scores are, or if it simply will not be held against you if you do not submit SAT scores.

I would be very surprised if you do not get in. You sre in the top ten percent of your class and you have a sister attending which does help a lot. I think you are definitely in.

Thank you! SAT scores are not required, but I am roughly on target for the critical writing/reading. However, my math could be a little higher…

Has your sister graduated? Interest as you know is a big thing with HC and I think ED gives you an edge. You don’t have grades yet, but your coarseload is strong with AP’s.
I think you also have a very good shot.
