Chances compared to students from same HS?

I have a 4.4 weighted GPA, I’m the chairman of my town’s Youth Commission, my ACT score is a 32, I’m the drum major of the marching band (which is basically the person who conducts and leads rehearsals) and I’m involved with other music ensembles, I’ve made it into competitive regional music ensembles and received gold on the national Latin exam (which is actually an international award), and I’m in national honors society and student council. There are several other people at my school applying to Brown that have higher GPAs (4.6 and above) and have EXTREMELY similar extra-curricular attributes, though they’re more involved in sports than in music. I know that typically Brown doesn’t really accept more than one student from a school, so do you think I have a chance of getting in?

Not true. Neither Brown, not its peers, has any type of min/max/quota.

Without seeing everybody’s application packet, nobody here can answer your question. You’re competitive - that’s the best anyone can tell you.

Brown might accept more than one, just as it may take none of you. Maybe a kid at a hs down the road shows more of the attributes they want-- you’ve got to know tippy tops want more than stats and some ECs. Dig into this, so you can write a solid app package.

My graduating class was 47 students. 9 were accepted to Brown. 6 enrolled.
