I am deciding to apply early desicion at either Cornell or Duke. My sister went to Cornell. I will probably major in Biochemistry (maybe pre-med) with a minor in French. What do you think my chances are? My teachers will write good recommendations. I think I have good essays. And I'll do well in an interview. I really love both schools. I just want to get into one. Help!

Your SAT is decent, but not spectacular. Getting it above 2200 would probably help a bit. Also, your SAT II scores are weak. If possible, try retaking. EC’s are average. Nothing really stands out, but they’re not particularly bad. If you have great essays and recs, I think you have an average chance to get in, which is relatively low when you think about their admissions rate. Good luck.

Is your GPA weighted? What is your unweighted GPA?

@dragonflygarden I think if it’s over 4.0 it has to be weighted. In my experience, unweighted never goes above 4

Some schools go up to 4.33 for A+. if it is weighted it seems low.

yeah especially with 7 aps

yeah, the GPA is weighted. unweighted my GPA would be like a 3.9. I am retaking the standardized tests to hopefully get some improvement in that area.
