All Cornell applicants should watch this helpful video

^Bro, chill with that video…

just trying to help here, thought this helped answer some questions about the “myth” with state funded schools v endowed schools at cornell

The alumn network is excellent for Cornelians. After my undergrad there, I interned in NYC and met several Big Red alumni…one director in particular introduced me to an associate who I ended up working for for the next several years. Fellow alumns get bumped to the top of the list (at least in my experience). Also, Cornell grads are from all over the world, so it’s likely you’ll run into someone who studied here regardless of what continent you’re on…

Question, how much does being a URM (black specifically) help in the admissions to Cornell, in other words is it weighted as heavily as other schools? thanks.

here is how you do it

How is the food at Cornell? What is the average temperature in the winter?

The food is very good overall, and a very nice treat for incoming students. Of course, for fine dining, one should go off campus to the restaurants in Collegetown and the Commons once in a while. As for temperature, it really isn’t terrible compared to the rest of the northeastern U.S. Sometimes it’ll drop below 0 degrees fahreinheit, but it usually hovers around the 20-50 range during the winter. If anything, the precipitation and inconsistent weather patterns will be the biggest nuisances.

You said the suicide rate is highest at another top school- what school are you reffering to?

@konradpawlak, who are you referring to?
If i had to make a shot at it though, I’d say CMU ;D

Hi,

May I know if Cornell accepts external recommendations? Also, does Cornell have an online portal that allows applicants to submit additional supplement materials? Finally, I want to major in Computer Science, but it seems that Computer Science is both under college in arts and science and college of engineering, and it seems that there is no difference between the two programs (I checked out both pages and both directed me to the CS department homepage). So I was wondering, which one should I choose?

Pick depending on what other courses you want to take. Each college has its own non-major requirements, such as a physical science, a math course, or a even language.

Hi,

Does that mean the CS course is exactly the same? I am fine with the requirements of both colleges, but I prefer a liberal arts education, so I think I will apply engineering as an alternate choice.

Do you know the answers to my other questions?

Thanks for helping!
