My essays will be pretty good; teacher recs will be exceptional, about 2 outstanding recs

pretty good chances, try to raise your sat score to a low to mid 14, and I think you stand very good chances.

If we say that your school day is 6 hours long and you sleep 6 hours a night, thats 60 hours out of the 120 that exist in a 5 day week.

Of the remaining 60: 14 to youth group. 15 to piano. either 4 or 8 to Church piano; I can't tell, but I'll play it safe and say 4. 4 hours to Library. 2 hours to spanish, 1 hour to poetry, 1/2 hour to NHS. Note that I omitted band which is evidently 20 hours per week in marching season, and your tuesday junior music club.

This leaves you with 19.5 hours, or 3 hours and 54 minutes per day, in which to eat, dress, take care of your personal hygine, get transported to and from all those activities, and do your homework (for, on average, 3 AP classes). And that's without band. I think you should be slightly more conservative with your estimates on your application.

Most of your stats look excellent, and whatever portion of your ECs is real is good too. Your SAT score is average for cornell. DO NOT put that "Who's Who" award in your resume! I don't even understand what it is, but everyone on this site says it's a fake award.

Best of luck to you in your application process, and remember that applying ED greatly increases your chances of acceptance if you're a competitive applicant. You are a competitive applicant. Once again, GOOD LUCK!

Each year, over 24,000 public, private and parochial high schools, youth groups and service organizations are invited to nominate students who have achieved a "B" grade point average or better and demonstrated leadership in academics, athletics or extracurricular activities. In fact, 67% of those students selected for publication maintain an "A" average.

Students who wish to be included in Who's Who must be recommended by a recognized adult leader of their high school, church, or youth organization sponsor.

Fair enough...sounds good so far

WOW, that's elite! 1/900,000! Not bad...

Careful review of each student’s qualifications has led to over 550,000 students being disqualified because they did not meet our high standards.

ooooh 900,000 out of 1,450,000 nominations. Only a 62.1% acceptance rate. Too bad I didn't win one :P
