Ok if you are going to ask why the hell is 63 a B, sorry I cant help it its the Indian system.Marking is kind of harsh here the passing marks are around 33.

I have an avg of 2250 on SAT practice tests now. Lets see what happens on the real one…

btw I just had a few questions, I have this gaming site on http://evolution-gaming.clans.net <—server down now i guess and www.cutlersoftware.com/evolution <–Just changed the CMS to Joomla.

I still havent got sponsors or something but should I mention this in my ECs?

I had participated in Nasa student involvement program but the certificate got lost on its way, indian postal system rocks!, and now NASA has discontinued the project due to budget cuts. Should i tell this? or will they consider I am lying about it? I have no proof…except a pair of space shuttle cuff links they sent me!!!

Lastly I have my own Linux Distro should I send along a CD?

Well I will be applying for Aerospace Major.

Ok I have been reading the forums and people say that one should have passion for something to get into Princeton. If you look above I have held a LOT of leadership postions. Heading a school of 2500 students to being appreciated by Leprosy Mission. But I have nothing related to aerospace or anything close it on my ECs except the NASA Program. So will being an all rounder help me or its going to break my chances?

just asking...which school have you NOT applied to?
and given it's really too late to change anything why bother with so many chance threads?
seriously

oh wait you're applying NEXT year?
my bad..

yeah next year. Last time i just stated my ECs nothing else...

blink blink

sorry my eyes decieve me...

83.3% is a A?
63.7 is a B?

You gotta be kidding me.... or am i understanding somethign wrong...

o right...you kinda explained that... but WOW
Are schools even aware of this kinda thing?

Regardless of how hard your system grades... if you change that to a
GPA... that nuts.

According to Wikipedia Conversion of indian marks into GPA i will have around 3.8 to 4.0 :D The passing marks here are around 33

0_o .

Cant help it man, the marking system is a bit harsh here. Indian High Schools are far difficult than American counterparts

WOW... that grading system is... just WOW

Everyone is talking about everything else except my chances :D

Mintie come and do a year in India you will know how hard it is

Indian High Schools are far difficult than American counterparts

[/quote]

Most American schools have AP/Honors courses that are at least as competitive as the Indian curriculum, if not even tougher.

im sorry but, this sucks lol. =P
Im in a school that has not produced a 4.0 average
student in 40 years, and here is a place where 83% is an
A.
I hear you. It must be hard and i don;t doubt that... but damn.

Grade inflation in the US.
83% A's in India.

But ignore me, im just ranting on cause im ed hahahaha.
All that sh
about taking hard classes... seems so stupid.

when reviewing 20,000 applicants a 3.95 with 5 APs
sure looks better than a 3.66 with 9 APs
(who has the time to scrutinize all that)

BUT FOR THE SECOND TIME... im just being bitter hahah

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. OUR LIVES ARE ABOUT TO BE EVALUATED
with an "Acceptance" or "Rejection"
hahahahahahah

I have studied in the US, and have also witnessed my cousins studying in India. And I think its quite accurate to say that it's widely accepted that Indian grading is much tougher and more competitive than US grading... aside from that, I honestly don't see anything that distinguishes you from other applicants. You are applying as an international; you're applying against many, brilliant, competitive Indian students. What makes you different? You have is high test scores and good grades, but so does every other kid who applies from India. I see no leadership in your activities, nor do I see many activities to begin with. All I see is that you have done well in regional examinations, or won a few academic awards here or there. You really need to focus on your activities more. Simply having good scores will not get you in. I'm sorry if I'm harsh, but I wanted to be honest.

no leadership? Being the head boy(I come after the Principal and Vice Principal in managing the school) of a school of 2500 students, School Basketball and Volleyball team captain for two years, a NCC 'A' Certificate I held the highest rank in the Corps that a cadet has in the Division, I am leading a Linux User group in my country.

If those dont show my leadership qualities I dont think anything else will!

i'll go with.....17%

i love when people post their stats so people can tell them their chances, and then proceed to just defend themselves against imperfect assessments

I wasnt defending people tend to miss those points outta my ECs always :D

Probably everyone reads the 1-3 lines ;)

Dude, no offense, but if you're applying as an international, your chances are extremely slim. The international pool is godly, especially from Asian countries such as India where mastery of academics is required. Don't be too full of yourself when other people give you feedback. Half your awards don't mean **** in the international pool; is Princeton going to care if you won first in a regional olympiad in India? IMO Gold Medalists get rejected from this place, as well as the sons of the President of "country X."

The evolution has begun :)
