Hi, I was wondering what my chances were at schools like....

Bennington College
Hampshire College

With these stats...

ACT: 24 composite
Writing: 11/12 (whatever that figures out to be)
English: 34
Reading: 26

SAT: ...well, I'm planning on taking this in May, and I should have taken it sooner, but more priority is put on the ACT.

Current GPA: 3.45 (unweighted), 3.78 (weighted)
Class Rank: In the top 25%, ranking hasn't been calculated for this semester.

Rigor of courses: Consistent honors classes in core subjects except for mathematics (the math program was changed when I was a freshman, which divided up Algebra 2/Trig & Geometry into a semester of each for two years, and the honors courses weren't following the same program).

If anyone managed to read through this, what do you suggest/what do you think my chances are?

anyone, at all????????

I think you have at least decent chance to all of them. Good luck!

Reed is probably a reach. Have a look at
http://web.reed.edu/ir/cds/cds0607/cdssecc200607.html
section C9.

Pretty good chance at Bennington and Hampshire. While both your GPA and ACT scores are a little bit low, your extra curriculars are terrific! Also, I know that Hampshire just started a branch of Amnesty International, so they are happy to have people with some experience. You will have a better chance of getting in if your essays are really good. Writing ability is important at these schools (and should be VERY strong for Sarah Lawrence as well). Good Luck

Ok, lets first filter your post:
ACT: 24
Writing: excellent (lol i got a 6/12. i suck. youre good.)
English: awesome
Reading: ok.
Math: um.....yeah.
Science: ok.

Current GPA: 3.45 prob some b's and c's. ok gpa.
Class Rank: ok rank.

Rigor of courses (at least thus far. your senior year is different.): somewhat rigorous

AP Courses: Has taken advantage of what is available.

Senior Schedule:
I am very impressed by your senior schedule. It looks nice and tough, which is very very good.

Extracurriculars:
Amnesty International (founder): You founded it, very good.
Honors Orchestra: Section Leader is good.
National Honors Society: Leader. good.
Student Council: You've done it for a while, which is good
Gay/Straight Alliance: Leader, good.
PHS Book Club: co-founder, good.

Volunteer hours: 169 hours- I like the variety of clientele (not sure if thats the right word) that you're volunteering with/for.

Awards:
Missouri Fine Arts Academy Nominee; good.
(the rest are somewhat irrrelevent)

Work Experience:
Brochure Photographer for Maryland Heights Parks & Rec-good.
Noodles & Company - busboy, i love it.

Ok. Overall score out of 10:
Grades: 7/10
Rigor of classes (use of your given environment): 9/10
EC's: 8/10
Volunteer/Work exp.: 8/10

So:
Bennington College: High Match
Hampshire College: Reach
DePaul University: Safety/Low Match
Knox College: Reach
Reed College: Reach/High Reach
Boston University: High Match/Reach
Indiana University at Bloomington: Low Match/Match
Sarah Lawrence College: High Match/Reach (But....i think you actually have a good shot.)

And in case you didnt know, the scale goes from safety to high reach:

safety (youre in without trying.)
low match
match (good. youre a valid candidate.)
high match
low reach
reach
high reach (its gonna be hard.)

You have a good list.
Oh and since i live in WY, University of Wyoming would be a match for you.
In general, its an okay college, but it has excellent engineering and geology (in comparison to other colleges of its calibur.)

Hope this helps!
Sri

bump. bump.

you are good at most places..
