Chances, Despite My Disdain For Them

<p>Hey, so I'll be applying ED to Newhouse this fall and couldnt resist doing a chances thread, even though I make a point to avoid them.</p>

<p>SAT I: 2140 (CR 750) (M 620) (W 770)
SAT II: Literature 760, US History 670
GPA: Not sure about the conversion because my school is on a 100 scale, but I think between a 3.3 and 3.5 UW
APs: 5 on Lang/Comp, 3 on APUSH; taking Euro, Macro, Stats, and Lit next year</p>

<p>ECs:
-Have been a Girl Scout since 1st grade, continuing through senior year, earned bronze award
-Interned at a large clothing company last summer, rotating between design and marketing departments
-Work at a library
-Have taken 2 FIT classes
-President of Literary Circle
-PR Director of Key Club
-Just under 200 hours of various community service
-Member and likely officer of Voices for Africa Club
-English Tutor for one student, expanding next year</p>

<p>Essay: Still in development, will (hopefully) be good but isn't that what everyone hopes for?
Additional: Plan to submit writing samples (Poetry and Fiction)
Recs: One fantastic teacher rec (english teacher), solid second teacher rec (italian teacher), likely solid counselor rec</p>

<p>Variables: Neither of my parents hold college degrees</p>

<p>I feel like a tool for even doing this thread but whatever, I have a dull social life so gotta stay occupied somehow. Appreciate any extremely tolerant person who reads and replies to this, ha!</p>

<p>I’d say you have a pretty solid chance, especially since you’re applying ED.</p>

<p>Yeah you should be all set. I did ED and got accepted with a 3.0 and 1690 on my SAT’s. But make sure you still interview and go to any college rep meetings at your school. It shows your interested and colleges like that, especially a college as big as cuse. An interview makes you stand out so they at least have an idea as to who you are.</p>
