In addition to GPA and SAT/ACT,
CWRU says in its Common Data Set that the Level of applicant’s interest is “Important” …
To Show Case interest, see this thread:
As @bopper per mentions, showing interest is really important. My daughter had stats that were similar to yours, slightly higher in some metrics and slightly lower in others. She was accepted EA. But, if you review the waitlist thread from this past spring, you will see many others, who also had very similar stats, who were waitlisted. For my daughter CWRU was her clear first choice school, and probably because of this, showed a lot of interest. As you look at colleges, if CWRU moves to the upper/top section of your list, I suggest you express that to the school. Make sure you review the list that @Bopper prepared on “how to show interest.” With so many close applicants with strong academic and ECs, often “Demonstrated Interest” can be a very important factor that can tip the scales. Good luck!
Hey guys I bumped up my ACT to a 34 composite ( E: 35 M: 34 R: 34 S: 31) and a 35 superscore (E: 35 M: 34 R: 34 S: 35). How do my chances for Case EA look now after taking these into account?
Nice job on the ACT! I think a 34 is a solid ACT score for any college. As I understand it from reading college admissions blogs and books, colleges generally do not superscore ACT scores since unlike SATs, the sections on an ACT are not completely independent from each other. That being said, I think your admissions profile looks very strong. I suspect you will have many choices to make, and I think you would fit in well at CWRU. as you start to narrow your choices, definitely contact your counselor at CWRU and let he or she know of your strong interest in joining the class of 2021. Please keep us posted about how things work out. Good luck!
