I’ve been debating whether or not to do this… I’m expecting to be deferred. I was stupid for applying early, but I was hoping for better SAT scores. Thanks for your input!

Umm, I dont mean to sound rude, and you said honesty, but are you kidding me? A 5.33 GPA? A 2100 SAT? 4 APs Senior Year? 2nd in class? Lots of ECs? It almost seems like you are trying to stroke your own ego here. I would say you have a very good chance of getting in EA.

Dear meliness : Honestly, I have no idea what a GPA of 5.33 actually is since we have no indication of what the cap score might be and whether your average is weighter. Unlike ChrisM1225's review, your SAT three-way score at 2100 is solid for the regular decision pool, but given the increase in applications this year for early access, you might be right on the bubble on scores.

The Honor Society material is good, but standard at this level of competition. The sports material is good supporting information provided you are interested in playing at the collegiate level in club or similar (tennis). Bet that you wish the Bausch and Lomb scholarship money would be transferable from University of Rochester to BC! Congrats on that award which is coupled to your class ranking.

You should be in the running for early admission, but will surely be a key contender in the regular decision pool. Is BC your top school or is this one among many for you?

ChrisM1225: Um, sorry... I've been obsessively browsing the EA stats and all the chances threads to try to see where I fit in, and I didn't think I looked that great for the EA pool. My math SAT scores scare me to death and upon rereading my essay I found it was way too long and not as great as I had originally thought. I'm really sorry if I offended you, but I'm just panicking and stressing like everyone else.

scottj: Regarding GPA, I had a 5.57 at one point for my GPA last year (I don't know my cumulative GPA or anything) and I think that's the highest you can get at my school- I'm not really sure how it works but they calculate in the honors classes. And not to sound like an idiot but what exactly is a weighted GPA? BC is my second choice- my brother goes there so I've had a lot of experience with the campus and I absolutely adore it =) I'm also applying to Tufts (first choice), University of Rochester, Brown, Providence College, and the University of Rhode Island.

Thank you for your encouragement! Once again I'm sorry if I sounded pretentious but I am genuinely concerned. CC is a really intimidating place and I should probably stay off of it in order to maintain my sanity.

If you are good enough for the local Harvard Book Club, then you should have been good enough for the Boston College Book Club? Where is the BC love?

I empathize with your feeling about the SAT's. I got a 2120, but a 640 on the math...gaeehhh. And I have an A+ in AP Calculus. SAT math just sucks, straight-up.
