Chances ED at the College

2300 SAT (800 M, 740 CR, 760 W)

760/760/710 SAT II’s

4.1 weighted GPA, but at a top 5 prep school in the nation (Exact rank is not given, but am in top 10% of class). Hardest course load possible at school

Various ECs, several which are quite in-depth and show passion (won’t get into details on here, I’m keeping this a quick post), but nothing so remarkable that it would immediately be a ‘hook’

Expecting good essays/ recs/ interview

looks pretty good, especially for ed

there are those like you that are rejected, but you certainly stand a great chance, esp. early decision.

I'm a little concerned, though
Historically, my school has gotten a LOT of students accepted into Penn
However, last year our % admitted was actually lower than UPenn's general acceptance rate! I'm not sure if this has to with an underachieving senior class who aimed too high in their college search, or if UPenn is starting to cut down on admissions from my school.

Does that really matter? If they want you, they will accept you. Regardless of which schoool you go to

Yes it does matter
Their perception of the student's high school is very important in assessing the GPA/ grades/ rank of the student

Yes, but you said some kids still got accepted to Penn- you could be one of those kids. With your stats, you have a solid chance at The College ED....unless of course, your guidance counselor had an altercation with an adcom, then you are in trouble
