I Plan to major in bio and have focused my application on my passion for bio and research as well as karate

I also have arranged a position at a Dartmouth Bio lab that I would do research at if I am admitted (Included in a why Dartmouth letter to dean of admissions)

So, what are my chances? Thanks in advance!

I think you look great! Nice job!

Thank you very much!

Brown ED looks good for you, smileeLV. I think the most important thing is that you come off as genuine and show true passion for all those activities.

Thanks for all the replies!

It’s always hard to say, but your position at the lab will be really helpful!! I think you definitely have a good shot. Good luck!

Thanks! 38 Days!!!

Thanks! 37 Days!!!

Thank you very much!

We both know that Dartmouth, like every other university, publishes it’s admissions statistics from previous years, and we both know that all your numbers fit in the upper range of those numbers. We also both know that your extracurricular activities are extraordinary and will most likely allow you to gain admittance into Dartmouth. Yet, what good is asking all this on College Confidential? We are not the one’s given your admissions file with all your essays, your recommendations, your school profile, your exact transcript, etc. The only thing that you can gain out of us is a mere ego boost, and although I have given you the positive comments that you seem to be fishing for in order to achieve that end, and there is no need for it. I seriously hope that you get flat-out rejected from Dartmouth so that your overinflated ego comes crashing back down to Earth.

HAHA! WOW!!! All I want is peace of mind. I would die to go to Dartmouth. I’ve been nervous since the day I submitted my application and will be until the day I get my decision–and I’m sure plenty of other people are in my same boat. So please, don’t go around ■■■■■■■■ my thread, or anyone else’s thread for that matter.

haha motion12345, i think that’s a bit strong. I don’t know about you, but one can never be too sure about college admissions- even if you think you really fit a college’s admission statistics, i for one always worry if there’s something i’m missing, or if my perceptions are completely skewed. All people want is peace of mind.

phillipper101, i think you’re in an excellent position for dartmouth. i envy your ECs.

@motion12345: That was really harsh and uncalled for. I mean people feel insecure about college admissions, and do like complete strangers on the internet to give opinions. If people are rude to the OP, then at least they do not have to confron them in real life, they have the benefit of staring at a computer screen. People do need a boost when they feel vulnerable, insecure, confused, etc. Sometimes people who use CC have access to countless people who know others with comparable stats who applied to the same schools as OP. That is a good touchstone sometimes, solely to quell fears. When people apply to schools, they do feel scared because the time in whicn they must agonize over adcoms’ decisions. Yes, chance threads are in essence completely pointless, but it is not as if they harmed anybody. Wish the OP luck and do not will ill-intentions for anybody for goodness’ sakes! Why is it a good idea to be mean to others, over the internet no less, hoping others fail? and we wonder what’s wrong with the world today…

@OP: Good luck!
You look to be in great shape, and all you can do is hope for the best here. If you get deferred/waitlisted/rejected, that is Dartmouth’s issue. Enjoy yourself wherever you end up, and prosper. Best wishes :)

Thanks! I just want it to be December 15th…

haha i think we can all identify with that. April 1st would be pretty awesome for me right now, too.

Haha no problem phlipper101! Well, I am a junior, so I cannot totally commiserate with you lol. But I know my sister was eager like you were, and like I will be next year ;)

Good luck guys :)

I don’t even want to think about how far April is…
