Chances (ED perhaps)

I go to school in the same magnet program as Austro43 (and am friends with him), so I was wondering if I could get some feedback, because W+M is very competitive.

Solid stats. Excellent test scores. UW GPA is a bit low, as well as rank outside of top 10%, but I’d say a decent shot for ED.

^He’s an in-state boy, too.

I’d go with a probable In for ED. Especially with some killer app essays.

Sounds like you have a lot of competitive qualities. If there are any outliers in your GPA/grades, you may want to explain those so the Committee can understand why your class rank is a bit lower (especially given the great courses you’ve selected and your outstanding SATs).

Anyone who applies to W&M should recognize that we admit only about 32% of those who apply so no one is a shoe-in and as more in-state students apply each year that pool is growing more and more competitive but take advantage of the opportunities to showcase yourself (recs, essay, optional submissions) so that you stand out to the deans who read your app.
