what are my chances both ED and RD? any advice? as a side note, I'm also looking at upenn, pending a visit (hopefully) this summer.

thanks for your time!

anyone? :)

ugh, i hate bumping, but at least i got a couple responses over at the upenn board :-P

Your academics seem good.

ECs are ok, but not great.

All seems set for you to apply. You should be a strong candidate applying RD...but to boost your chances, u could apply ED. But, CAS does have a very low acceptance rate.

what can i add to my ECs?

i have commitment/community service - girl scouts
commitment/leadership - ultimate
academics - explorers, academic awards
music - flute

what am i lacking?

I'm not saying that your ECs are bad...But, you should realise that most people applying to Cornell have also very good ECs, and some even have Int'ls awards etc.
But as I said before,Your academics are very good ...ur grades are very much above the median Cornell grades and scores. Overall, your app is very strong...

ok. but aside from academic awards, i thought the point of ECs was to show commitment, enthusiasm and leadership in a few areas, and i guess i'm not sure how i can make my ECs (outside of academic awards) any better. or how anyone could really have much better ones without being president of 8 clubs that have nothing to do with one another and just look like you were trying to get lots of stuff to put on your app.

oh well :-P

I actually think that you are a great candidate. -Although I have ZERO clue what girl scouts do, I don't see any volunteering listed; you could improve on that. (I'm guessing ur going to replay saying that that is what half of being a girl scout is lol). Great app tho!!! Keep up the good work!

lol, sorry i didn't say, i have 500+ hours of CS. silver award + gold award = major community service projects. gold award is the equivalent of eagle scout award thing but is harder to get.

O well that is great then. Great job!
