Chances ED

I am entering my senior year and plan on applying to cornell, but not sure whether ED or RD is better for me. i plan on applying to the college of human ecology

I also had a sibling who just graduated from cornell undergrad and is now going to Yale School of medicine, and i am wondering if the med school part also helps me

New SAT:

i am retaking in october and expecting a 100 point overall raise

SAT II: none yet, but going to take Math II and Physics and expect scores over 700 in each

GPA: is pretty low a 3.65 as my school didnt calculate GPA for ninth grade as it was at my junior high

im a Indian Male, and am only 16 entering my Senior year until March, hence why i could not work and was forced to volunteer at the office, the age also limited other volunteering, employment, and interning oppurtunities, but i am looking for a business internship for my summer post senior year.

Thanks and I really appreciate any advice you can give me.

Im applying Early to the College of Human Ecology. Im a male and from NYC. Are you applying to Biology & Society major?

im a 16yr old senior too. kinda sucks.
anyway, you look pretty good for ED, less bueno for RD.
your gpa leaves something to be desired, as do your SAT scores. but theyre not bad, so dont worry. just write good essays :-D

thats my strategy for HE too. :)

Do you know all the people from the College Cofindential forum that are applying ED to Human Ecology? There you, me, Yanksfan, and Beacon S. Do you know any more?

I only know of them. Never heard of anyone else. You are also doing ED to HE, drinkingmilkalldaylong?

I'm thinking about it. I trying to balance out the pros and cons between A&S and Human Ec.

isnt it weird....there are about.......300 male applicants to HE in TOTAL...we have 4 sitting together, thats creepy

I hope that'll be an advantage for us males. Why is that there are so many fricking females in human ec?

Design, textiles...etc

Which one do you think is an easier major? Biology & Society or Human Biology & Society (or whatever the name is; I can't think of it at the moment)

easier to get into or easier to pass? Im doing B & S.

Easier to get into. Also, do you think the standard to get into Human Ec is somewhat lower compared to say...Arts and Sciences? And while browsing through the past forums, I was surprised to see people getting deferred even with SAT scores of 1400's and high 1300's. Is there a particular reason for this? They had good EC's and high grade average. I'm just paranoid that I won't get accepted.

Yes, the standards are lower compared to A/S. People get deferred with 1500 too. It all depends. ESSAY IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Cant stress that enough for Human Ec.

Well how could you NOT be paranoid that you won't get accepted...you only have about a 30% chance of getting in...join the club. Admissions is not easy.

OK, im over the paranoid state. I was paranoid for 8 months. Its depressing.

yea lol i was freaking out i wasn't gonna get into cornell..but figured life isnt over if i dont..theres plenty more schools to apply to

dude you have a decent shot... your gpa could be higher but as far as SAT, people get into cornell with 1280's ED and 1350's RD, you have a 1400 and your other stats show academic promise. Write awesome essays and pick good teachers to write ur recs, and you'll have a decent shot.

Who are you talking to, Bluedevil?

yanksfan, i thought this was his post?
