Essays should be good, 1 rec is awesome, other 2 should be good

I've also been to 3 different high schools if that matters.

So do I have a good shot?

Super18blue,

Did you visit Emory? Register with the Office of Admission when you did so?

I think you are very solid and should be accepted for ED. You're taking 5 AP classes this year? Shows the rigor of your academic courseload. Good EC's.

Good luck!

What was your SAT?

And what will your major be?

Can you show passion for a particular area of interest, especially as it would relate to your chosen major?

NorCalDad:
I have visited Emory twice now & registered both times. I have also gone to college fairs, local receptions, and communicated with an admissions representative. I know demonstrated interest is important, but I heard it is downplayed when applying ED?? (not sure)

Pearl:
My major will be history. & I didn't take the SAT (but the ACT converts to around a 1410-1470)

My "passion" (what I'm writing about in my EC essay) is definitely soccer. It had taken up most of my time (practically ALL) for the past 10 years.

Super18blue ... the implication by applying ED is that you are indeed demonstrating interest, since you sign an agreement that if accepted, you will enroll. Happy to know you have visited and came to the conclusion that Emory is your No. 1 choice after visiting. I know it is a mistake to apply ED to any school without having first visited. As I said, I think you are very solid. If you are desiring to play soccer at Emory, definitely make contact with the coach.
