any chance ED/and why not RD while we're at it (assuming my SAT II's are about...700 chem, 750 lit, 650 math IIC)

I would think about waiting until RD for you. You are going to want to take the SAT and/or ACT a few more times. Also, you don’t need to include the letter from your neighbor. They don’t like that.

I would agree with you, despite being from Long Island, that Section III is the best section in the country…where do you go? im going to guess liverpool, bville, or CNS..

anyway i think its a slight reach to a reach because of your SAT scores, you should try to get it up at least over 1400, 1450 if you can. Your grades and rank are pretty good, top 5% is very good.

danbrenn is that true about the letter - the guy I’m talking about is my best friend’s dad, he’s known me for like 10 years - they really frown upon that?

When I was applying, I knew a few alums that were willing to write letters for me, but admissions told us that attaching extra letters was more annoyance to them than anything else. If your Dad’s friend knows someone in admissions and is willing to call over there for you, then that is a different story. Call admissions and ask them about including a letter if you don’t want to take my word for it.
