As you are probably aware, your stats are excellent. On paper, however, you appear to be the type of student who applies to Emory as a backup to Ivies. You'll need to show some interest in Emory to overcome that.

Your chances are excellent. Your GPA and SAT test scores are above average (with your SAT Reasoning Test scores being at above the 75th percentile based on enrolled students). If you have a serious interest, you must demonstrate interest. Emory has shown their willingness to defer students with a strong profile based on lack of demonstrated interest. If you are indeed interested in Emory, consider apply as well to the Emory Scholars Program. This will require being nominated by your high school and applying to the program separately from the admissions application (you will need to be nominated by your high school -- Emory limits the number of students nominated per each h.s. -- and also get the applications in by the deadline of Nov. 1.

See my earlier post about "Tips" for Emory applicants enrolling for fall of 2007 for other information. Good luck!

Yeah, I took the 660 this past June, and will actually be retaking it sometime before January.
It was in Literature, and reading comprehension has always kind of been my downfall.
SAT IIs just aren't my thing.
Math is my thing, though, as you can probably see -- which is what the 740 was in.
