Chances- Engineering

Im applying next fall for civil or aerospace engineering (2012).

Heres my stuff
From NJ
GPA- 3.70 unweighted- my school is really competitive, where all classes are honors level, but technically, all of them are regular level, but I have taken a few college classes in school so far
SAT-2160 (hope to bring it up to about 2200)
M-780 CR-700 W-680
780 Math II
hoping for around a 780 on physics, too

Ive got good ec's, not much work exp (currently looking for a job), about 100 volunteer hours

Math classes
Alg I/II, Geometry, College Stats, Trig, Precalc- All Low-Mid A's
Sciences
Bio I/Marine Bio, Chem I & II, Aquatic Eco, College Biotechnology, College Physics I/II (now)
then basic classes (english, history, ect...)

My Senior classes would be college calc, college english, CAD, oceanography (its a marine science school), Environmental Science, gym, and i think spanish iv or something

If i keep my gpa, or go up a bit, do i have a good shot at michigan?
PS: Im also thinking about Georgia Tech, Cal Poly, Bucknell, Lehigh, Texas-Austin, and Virginia Tech.

Is ur school private? How big is it?

I love gym senior year Haha

Honestly its hard to say cuz of the recent common app switch

Gym is required all four years in NJ.

You’re looking solid for all of your choices

Damn…Play 60 really got to you guys Haha

haha yea but it kinda sucks because we only get it for one semester.
anyway, my school is public, small. only about 200 kids 9-12

what ap’s have you taken?
i had a similar UW gpa (but with 5 ap classes) and similar sat (then again, i had a really good act) and i got into umich engineering

my school doesnt offer aps (bummer, i know…), thats why we have college classes. im taking all that i can, though

If your GPA stays the same and you get the SAT/SAT II scores that you are hoping for, then I’d say you have a good shot. Hopefully, your ECs are as good as you say they are as well. Good luck!
