Chances Evaluation Please

Stats:

SAT I: 710 math / 720 verbal
SAT IIs: 720 Math 2C, 750 Writing (didn’t take 3 because I have ACT anyway)
ACT: 32 Composite
AP classes: Took 2 junior year, got a 5 on Comp. Sci. A and 4 on US History. Currently taking 2 AP courses this year.
Courseload: I take all the honors levels courses my school has. This year all but one class is honors level. So I’m taking a “most difficult” courseload.
GPA: 3.9 unweighted, 4.4 weighted
Rank: 8 of 400
ECs: My weakest area. I participated in a “challenge program” at a local college that was twice a week for a year. I did Ski Club for three years. As far as community service goes, I did some work in the Soup Kitchen but not much else. I haven’t really had any leadership positions.
Recommendations: a really good counselor one, and I’m guessing good to great teacher ones as well
Essays: I think they’re good, and I’ve had teachers that have said they’re good, so I guess they’re good.

I’m just trying to get an idea of my chances so I can be a little more (or less, as the case may be) confident when I start receiving those letters in April. Thanks in advance.

i think u got real good chances mavin.......

Everything is superb except ECs..

Play off your ECs a bit more - strengthen their descriptions a bit - and you're in. But yeah... they aren't so nice like your academics... Where are you applying from?

I'm applying from New Hampshire.

On my "most important EC" common app question I played off my work experience quite a bit (I work at a real estate firm). Hopefully that will help.

And thanks for the replies :P

I'd say you're probably in... amazing how similar you are to me (I'm in - and don't feel like going into details :)) - and your test scores & GPA are higher by a bit.

It's all in how you make yourself out to be. Are you interesting? Your description above is boring, mellow, lazy. But it doesn't need to be that way!
