Your test scores and grades are fairly low, but your extracurriculars are strong.

^

I’ve got to second that. You have an incredible list of ECs with a resume only marred by a rather low GPA. Certainly a downward trend never really looks appealing. A 31 on your ACT is very good though, and maybe if you can bring that up a point or two, you’ll help your cause. ECs really can go a long way in personalizing an application and making yourself noticed amidst constant streams of incredible stats and average ECs. But that GPA doesn’t look too high - and sometimes colleges may overlook that, but all in all, you have a fair shot at Northwestern. Might be a toss-up depending on how they read your application.

I see also that you have Chance threads for Duke, UC Berkeley, Tulane, Penn, University of Michigan, UCLA, USC, Miami University, Univsity of Miami, Vanderbilt, University of Cincinatti (DAAP - Industrial Design), Pepperdine, NYU Stern, Michigan State, and UC Santa Barbara. That is a pretty ridiculous (bordering on lengthy) list with schools that share nothing really in common. That’s a dartboard list, and if you can’t really show a real interest in Northwestern, your chances will suffer.

i had an even lower gpa and got in. though my lower grades came freshman year whereas some of yours are coming later rather than sooner. really strong ec’s. i’d say you have a good shot. keep working your senior year.
