That's pretty much it. Compared to the other profiles I've seen on this forum... not so great. My mom's kind of worried about my ec's as well. And my grades have had a downward trend.
I took 4 ap classes junior year (Calc AB, Physics, Spanish, US History) and wasn't prepared for the taskload.

So... what do you think my chances are?

Hmm, your situation kinda looks like mine, except your scores > mine haha. I think you have actually a really good chance -- you have a solid SAT and for the most part solid SAT II scores, and your ec's are well-rounded as well. Top schools like the accomplishments in music, and being accomplished in a sport also looks good. Shows that you can juggle your ec's. As for gpa, I'm not too sure how important they are.. but most colleges look at unweighted. And since you're in one of the best private schools, colleges will take that into account. And as for your summer activities, they're pretty good as well. You spent your summer productively in camps, and the science/math camp looks good :p.

I think you're definitely in the running for the top schools you've listed -- nail your essays and try to maintain high grades, and maybe retake your SAT II Physics; definitely plan to take more SAT II's--do both korean and spanish! I hear korean's really easy for native speakers.. you probably wouldn't need to study too much. Focus more on the spanish; you'll get an auto-good score for korean and good score for spanish if you studied for it.

I knew you'd be Korean from the look of your name :)
UC schools and Carnegie Mellon should be a safety.
Your ECs look okay. If you need to strengthen your SAT IIs, I'd say you stand a fair chance.

Hi haewon225, I'll chance you ... but can you chance me as well? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/538677-please-chance-me-i-d-really-really-appreciate.html

Your GPA is good, but it's even better if it's a top 5 school in the US. If your school doesn't rank, don't worry about the class rank. Also, if your school didn't offer APs or Honors (?) classes until junior year, don't freak out about it. Have your counselor explain your situation in your letter of rec, and colleges will understand. Your SAT is ... WOW ... good job on it!!! You're already one of the best in the US. Your SAT IIs are slightly weaker, but none of them really needs a retake because none of them fall below the dreaded 650 mark. Again, rarely does a school reject you because of a weak SAT II score. Go ahead and take another SAT Subject if you feel like you need it, but I don't think you'll need another SAT Subject (save your money!!). Your ECs aren't weak ... they're just slightly typical (hospital volunteering + orchestra + sports). However, to maintain principal cello status takes a lot of effort and practice --- I know that from personal experience --- or it just means you're really really talented and special and everyone else in your section envies your talented cello-playing skills (lol that came out really wierd). What you should have also done in high school was to be part of another volunteering club or to be part of an academic club (Science Olympiad, Math Teams, Knowledge Bowls, etc). However, few ECs aren't the end of the world --- you can show admissions officers what these ECs truly mean to you. Remember, it's not the number of ECs that counts. Those summer camps will also help a bit, and your trip to Mexico will help alot -- talk about the Mexican culture if you want to in your essays as well and what it meant to you.

Generally speaking, you're a very good student.

Chances:
-HYSP: Reach (heck they're top ivies!)
-Columbia: Reach (ditto)
-Wellesley: Slight reach
-UC Berkeley: In (IOS) or safety (OOS) --> you might qualify for regents scholarship
-UCLA: In (IOS) or safety (OOS)
-UCD or UCSD: In no matter what happens
-Carnegie Mellon: Safety match

Good luck!
