Reaches: Stanford, Yale, Ivy leages...
Matches: UCLA, UC Berkeley
Safeties: UCSD, USC

Any suggestions for other colleges. I am definitely open to the east coast.

i think cal is a really good bet.

besides that, all of the top schools are a coin flip for you

Bump, anybody?? :)

whats your UC gpa?

run4fun19:

UCLA: Match
UCB: Match
Stanford: Reach
USC: Safe Match

How do you calculate your UC GPA? I have all A's except freshmen year I had an A- in honors english. Do A-s and A+'s count? the courseload is in my original post with 4 APs this year and and 7 honors total with 6 classes each year.

Anymore input on what I can do to improve my chances.. In other words BUMP. lol

Your stats look really good, Im not an expert on that though. nice EC's.
Im in the same boat with that whole "commended but could be semifinalist" thing (225, florida) I wonder when all that stuff gets sent out..? obviously your chances would be improved if you can squeak a finalist outta that.

After one becomes a semifinalist, how are finalists chosen?

Anyone else have suggestions for me about possible colleges???

Its based on easy things, like a rec, GPA, stuff like that..just to make sure that youre not just good at test taking...or that it wasnt a fluke. As long as you arent failing or in juvie all the time, youre fine. like 10000 make semi and 8200 (approx) make finalist.

awww =DDDD

i applied to that as well, they haven't announced the selections yet...

Which Ivies? You are in at all the UCs, Stanford/ Yale are moderate reaches.

Take a look at Washington University in St. Louis. Top school (ranked 11th in US News between Dartmouth and Brown) and with your stats, it'd be a match or at worst a slight reach for you .

UCLA/UCB: Match
UCSD: Safety
Stanford: Reach
USC: Match

lol this thread is 8 months old! Besides, I think she did got into Stanford EA.

Goldfish, you know her too?!

run, how did you sign up for such an internship at the city of hope?

yes, how did you?
