Chances for a Canadian Boy

Hey everyone my name is Brendon and I live in Vancouver British Columbia. I come from an upperclass family making 150+ a year. Im looking of applying to UCSC, UCSD, UCSB, and UMiami. Im looking to do pre-med then medical school to become a doctor. My motive for that was because when I was 5 I had a brain tumor that gave me 1 percent chance of surviving. Only 40 people in history had this tumor and only a few survived. I probably will be writing about that in my essays.

I go to a self directed school where students pace themself and teach themselves. Only 3 schools in Canada are like this and students attend seminars etc really preparing you for how University is.

How do my chances look? This took me a long time to write so could you guys please respond.

I'm not sure the UC schools will be your best choice for pre med. They are very cut throat in that area and have harsh curves which weed out many pre meds. Since you'll be paying so much being OOS anyway, a more nurturing private school might be a better bet. Depending on how SAT scores turn out you may want to look at Santa Clara, CMC, Pitzer, USD, Pepperdine in California.

WOW pepperdine looks amazing! What would you say my chances are getting into Pepperdine?

Any other thoughts?

someone respond.

It depends on your SAT scores. To get into Pepperdine, you would probably need about a 1250 or better with your grades.

sorry to do this but

BUMP AGAIN

edit: nevermind

I think you have a good shot at Pepperdine if you get a relatively good SAT score. It's supposed to have one of the most beautiful campuses.

Also, what's the lowest score you can have at your school and still get a B? Is it 75? You may want to clarify it because some people here may not fully comprehend your grading system.

73-85 B
86-100 A

dont really know the C's

bumpppppppp

1000 volunteer hours!
The fact that you've played in movies and have overcome a tumor will set you apart and certainly give you very nice chances anywhere. However, it's really going to be dependent on your SAT scores....so can't really say too surely....
