I would say that you have a pretty good chance at Columbia ED. It has a low, low acceptance rate, but your stats are rather phenomenal. I would give you a 40+% chance of acceptance, but I may be wrong.

Looks very good overall. I’d say you have about 70% chance of getting in ED.

Very solid application, with extraordinary circumstances. Now it really depends though because if you are applying to a humanities/international relations/poli sci major etc. then your situation is a huge boon, however I don’t think it would help if you are applying to math or engineering.
Your SAT IIs are ok, the math II is a bit low for Columbia to be honest. Your SATs are more than sufficient (at this point they will look at the other things). If your rank is 1, I would say you truly have a very decent shot at getting in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t get in just because of how random the process is!
Good luck, and if you don’t get into Columbia I would be surprised if you didn’t get into at least 1 ivy.

I think your ECs and your term in Washington are VERY impressive, and you have a good shot. You’ve obviously taken initiative and are active in leadership, and Columbia will appreciate that.

I would say you have a pretty fantastic shot at acceptance. Obviously your standardized scores and GPA are enough for the admission committee to look over your application a few times! Your ECs are really what help you stand out from just being a test score. Writing a book that made money for the Boys and Girls Club shows inniative, perseverance, and charity. Great resume! I would say you have a better shot than most to get in (30%, maybe 35%).

I was actually just in DC and met a few pages there! If you get a letter of rec from your congressman (I don’t know hwo difficult that would be)it would help alot. You have a very solid chance of Columbia-I know alot of kids who didn’t have a good shot, but applied ED and got in.
Definite sho-in.

Thanks for chancing me! Like everyone said, your stats and EC’s are really good, but Columbia is Columbia, so I’d say it stil be a slight reach for oyu, but you can definitely look foward to getting in.

Thanks for chancing me!

Your EC’s are so focused and the page thing seems like am amazing experience (I’m actually looking at it now for myself lol). Your SAT is solid and your academics are obviously great. I would say you have a really good chance at getting in and if you don’t you will probably get into another ivy.

Oh and good luck!!!

If you ED, you’ve got a really good chance (Over 60%). If you reg, still a decent chance (~45%)

Sorry I didn’t respond to this earlier.

there’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said, but I think you have a fair shot into all the schools you mentioned. Given their competitive nature, I wouldn’t call it a safe shot, even with your stats, but you’ve still got a competitive shot. Perhaps your essay+ recs would help sway them?

def have a chance.

You have great ECs. And a great SAT score. As long as your subscores are above 750+, you’ll do great. And 11 APs are a good thing to have on your side. I will have 11 by the end of senior year as well.

Not sure about the religious affiliation of your school. Are the curriculae rigorous? And essays constitute a large part of admissions (which I am in the process of doing as of now).

You have a pretty good chance to get into Columbia. I wouldn’t be worried. In fact, with your stats you have a pretty good chance to get into any state schools without problems. Don’t fret it dude. Plus I read your cynical comment on my thread. Reciprocating the love <3

I’m pretty sure Cornell is within reach But we’ll see.

Yeah man you should get into Columbia without a problem.

Well I must say your stats are impressive. I think based on everything, you have an above average chance at Columbia. I know someone who went to Columbia with less impressive resume than you had, except for a higher test score, 35 ACT I think. His GPA was 3.96 (UW) and I know he didn’t do nearly as much as you did. While no one is ever a lock for an Ivy, you come very close to one because you have demonstrated a clear direction with your ECs and have been able to get the positions you want.

AP Scores:
3 - Lang and Comp
4 - Chem (already mentioned in thread)
5 - World History (already mentioned in thread)
5 - Calc AB
5 - US History
5 - Microeconomics

I think Yale is a great match for you and same for Columbia. Just make sure you have a great essay cause ivies are ridiculous with admissions. Personally I dont think you need to retake it but you can if you want.

Your ECs and stats are great! I think you have a great chance of getting in but I think you secretly know that =P

It looks like you have as much of a chance as anyone at both Yale and Columbia. If you’re interested in politics, being a congressional page really shows that you pursued your interests.

I don’t know much about Columbia’s programs, but my brother is a political science and history major at Yale, and he absolutely loves it. He actually got an internship at the Department of Education this summer and has been doing a lot of networking.

I’d say Columbia would be a match for you. Especially with all your accomplishments. Also, your from North Carolina. That will help you as most of the people applying to Columbia are form the Northeast event though its an Ivy League.
