Hi there, I love UMD.

White male, CT

3.67 GPA (weighted)

AP's: US (taken-got a 4), Econ, Stat, French Lang

Rest of my classes are mostly Honors

640 CR 620 Math 680 Writing (1920)/ 27 ACT

Good EC's: Only high school student on White House Media Press Relations Staff, Boys State, teaching assistant, captain of mock trial team (participant all 4 years), newspaper editor, Model UN, Concert band, marching band, pep band, taken 2 classes at a local university, National Student Leadership Conference at American U, Summer Journalism Program at UFlorida, Max Honors every semester

Great rec letters...

Thanks!

Your stats are on the low side, your ECs are on the high strong side. You are not from NJ/NY, but close enough to be thrown in that pile. UMDCP is numbers driven, I would have to say 60-40 IN if you did priority.

thanks, anyone else please?

50/50 maybe? Your GPA is low…what is it unweighted (as UMD will do their own “weighting” if your school calculates it differently than MD public schools do…) I agree that your EC’s are awesome, though. Good luck!

What APs did you take your junior year? Your GPA/ACT are on the low side but you do have very good extracurriculars so that could help. Probably just depends on the difficulty of your courses throughout high school.

Apply to Tulane. The application is free!

AP US History junior year (4 and A’s both semester). Rest of my classes junior year were honors

Anyone else have any thoughts? I really appreciate the responses!
