Hi everyone!
As you can see from the title from this thread, I am applying to Cornell university, and both my parents attended school there. (My dad got his undergraduate there and my mom got her masters).
In addition, my father was on the faculty there for a time, and my mother is active in alumni associations.
SAT: 2010
Subject tests: world history-670, literature-700
GPA: 4.21 weighted, and somewhere above a 3.93 unweighted
Lots of extra curriculars including Model UN, a university orchestra, honors choir and volunteer work at a historic house. I lived abroad for half a year in high school too. I also took two courses at a local state university (got As in both) and am submitting the transcript.
I have wanted to go to Cornell as long as I can remember, and I'm quite anxious hoping for an acceptance!

It would be really helpful if anyone has any ideas! :)

your tests scores can be an issue.

reach.

Ok thanks!

Anyone else?

Cornell: High Match

thanks! Anyone else? I can chance back

Cornell is a great school. Holy Cross-top25LAC near Boston has January26th application due date.

What do you think my chance for Cornell are though?

I would say reach. I would also say this is one of the instances where you won’t get responses on CC with any degree of accuracy.

yes, I agree that its very subjective.I’m just hoping for an acceptance though.

Can you improve your test scores or are you a senior?

Yes RD and I am a senior.

Could anyone chance me for the other schools I am applying to?
Boston College
Boston University
Brandeis
McGill
Wesleyan University
Washington University in St. Louis

Cornell: reach
BC: low reach-reach
BU: match
Brandu: high match
Wesleyan: high match
WUSTL: reach

For mcgill it depends on what department you are applying to, as some departments are much more selective than others, so to chance you I need to know what department you are applying to. McGill admissions is strictly numbers based, ECs are irrelevant. McGill also only looks at grades from 10-12. Here are the admission minimums posted:
[Admission standards (US) | Applying to Undergraduate Studies - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/unitedstates)

Virtually all accepted students are above ALL of the minimum standards (Think of it like an admissions check list) If you are below any of the minimums you are a reach, but if you are above all of the minimums you are a low match/safety.

Thank you!

I’m applying to arts at McGill. I want to study history and russian!

Thank you tobornton2 !
