Chances for a disabled Japanese speaker?

I'm applying to University of Rhode Island Pharmacy (Pharm.D) program EA if they let me. (All materials have to be in by Dec. 15th. I mailed mine over a week ago, but they haven't been scanned in yet. The admissions office said to call next week, so I guess I'll know then if they will considered me for EA or not.) My greatest concerns are my low ACT math score and non-honors math courses up this year (12th math is AP). I've done well in math and honors/AP sciences thus far.

Personal statement: Subjuctive. I didn't like it, but I never like my own writing. Other people really did, however. It's about how my physical disability has caused people to paint me into boxes, and me breaking out of them. It uses Wyeth's Christina's World as an allegory.

Thanks!

Why the hell did you take Japanese if u can speak japanese?

I can't. White, didn't start taking it until HS. I can speak it nowm though, with some fluency.

bump.............

Anyone? Please?

no chance. at all

This may sound stupid, but are you japanese or white?

a white person who can speak Japanese would stick out ALOT

but if your japanese (or any other eastern asian), it wont matter too much

Your probably going to get in anyway though

I'm sure that you will get in.
I also applied to URI 6year Pharm D with 1930 SAT score and 4.0 GPA.
I think you EC is better than mine.
And I got in to URI with 60,000 scholarship .
So don't even worry about it. You will get in with the scholarship!

habdragon: Totally white, lol. I started studying Japanese in HS and took JI freshman year, JII-III sophmore year, JIV and V junoir year, and JVI senoir year. Would it really stick out that much? I guess I never thought about it that way.

haksun: Were you in or out of state?

Thanks for the advice. Please keep it coming!

bump........

it looks like you will get in no problem. good luck.

What kind of physical disability? I am confused because you put horseback riding as an EC.

I am an international student.

Actually, horseback riding is very common among the disabled, as it is said to have great therpeutic benefits (which aren't why I do it, but anyhow...)

haksun, when did you apply/get accepted, if you don't mind me asking?

I applied in November, and I got the decision letter in late November.

i wish my HS offered japanese...my only choice is spanish!
