Chances for a Friend

I was curious as to what people think about my friends chances of getting into an Ivy League School. He wants to go to Harvard/Princeton I believe. And no, this is not me. My grades would not qualify me for these schools at all, but I think his would. He doesn't think so however, and I am trying to convince him. Am I right or is he?

Not sure exact numbers, besides SAT:

GPA: 4.24 (4.33 scale)
SAT: 1410 M+CR, 2150 CUMULATIVE
Honors: Cum Laude, AP scholar (probably with distinction), AIME qualifier?
Extra's: Soccer, Academic team, comm. service, Paper Noise (literary publication) editor for 2 years, worked in the EXCEL program at the University of Cincinnati (paid research on something)
Ethnicity: Indian
Lived in Kyoto, Japan in Middle school

Senior courseload: AP Physics, AP calc bc, Ap english, ap spanish lit, filler course in history i believe

Honors/ap courses pre 12:
geometry h, biology h, english h (10,11), chemistry h+ap, euro ap, us hist ap, spanish 2 h, spanish 3 h

My argument: everything looks good and sat scores look good enough. there is not a huge difference between a 1410 and a 1450 in my opinion

his argument: sat scores kill him and will not get him into better colleges. apparently his college counselor told him this...

i think this is all there will be. he is a good essay writer i think, or at least he does well in english.

this is about all i know. any reponse would be great. in my mind it really boils down to does a sat score of 2150 break an application

Ha, those are excellent stats. The SATs are fine, they might be a bit lower than most applicants', but by no means 'kill his chances. I'd say he's got as good a shot as anybody.

I never understand these "my friend/sister/brother/twin sister/twin brother/etc." chances threads.

Why wouldn't they just post their stats by themselves?

All they have to do is sign up for CC.

I know some will say, "Maybe they don't feel like signing up so they ask their friends who already have their accounts, dumbass."

Isn't that weird though?

It's not hard to sign up and use CC. You also benefit greatly from CC.

Hm...

From the stats you posted, it appears that your friend is lacking in leadership positions, and it is hard to tell if he is committed to an activity long-term. It is also not possible to tell if he is passionate about anything. These things are very important for getting into a school of Harvard's caliber.
