I lived in Columbus, Ohio the first half of my life ~approx. 10 minutes from main campus. I don’t know much about the branch campuses and I wanted to come up with the most logical approach to going to Ohio State in the longrun. Which campus is the nicest? Will I enjoy my stay at the branch? ect. ect.

The two that are closest to Columbus are the Marion campus and the Newark campus. The Marion campus seems like it has a reasonable "college" vibe to it, with intercollegiate sports, club sports, and a lot of student organizations.

You should go visit and see if this is for you. (Go before you miss January deadlines for other colleges.) This does sound like a good route to OSU for someone with a not-so-great h.s. career who wants to go to Ohio State.

Sounds like you are motivated and will do well at OSU when you get there. Good luck!
