I am looking to major in Pharmacy.

I am considering the following schools:
-University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (In-state)
-Rutgers University (OOS)
-Campbell University (In-state)
-Wingate University (In-state)
-St. John’s (OOS)
I don’t really have any other ideas on colleges. I want to go somewhere with a good Pharmacy program. I’d like to go to the same school for all 6 or 7 years (both for my Bachelor’s and for Pharmacy School) Any school suggestions?

Anyone????

Assuming your SATs are exactly how you expect, all of the schools you listed are safeties. I'd suggest UC-San Francisco.

UC- San Fran is a grad school. No undergrad programs.

Drew00: Whoops...my mistake. I meant to say UC Berkeley (as a reach) and then go to San Fran. It's late.

Edit: Then again, OP wanted to go same place for UG and Grad.

Well, since I am from North Carolina, I doubt that I could do that. Do you know of any other schools more on my side of the country? Maybe some more reaches and matches. Also, I want the school to have a good Pharmacy program.

University of Maryland, perhaps. US News ranked Maryland Pharmacy #8.

Assuming you get the scores you are expecting, UMD=slight reach

Do you have the link to the article that you found UMC being ranked as number 8. I'd like to see some of the other top pharmacy schools as well.

Also, I am kind of worried about how rigorous my courseload is. Compared to several other people on here, my classes are extremely easy. I mean, I do have Yearbook both semesters every year except Freshman, and then I have several electives (Comp App I, App II, E-Comm, Dig. Comm. Skills). Do you think that I have enough honors/AP classes to set these easy classes off? My regular classes would be honors if my school offered it. But since they don't, my courseload looks pretty pathetic compared to others.

Thanks

UMD Pharmacy is actually on the Baltimore campus

I know that you probably want Pharmacy on the same campus, but I was looking for schools in your general Mid-Atlantic region as it appears you want to stay close to home.

Okay, thanks. As long as I get into UNC-Chapel Hill I am happy. I just hope I get accepted. There was a senior this year that got waitlisted there, and it just really worries me because she has pretty good stats. She was in the top 10% of her class, has a very big passion for dancing. She has been dancing for like 10 years. She may have had bad SAT scores or not a rigorous enough courseload.

Yeah, I do kind of want to stay close to home. I will probably just end up at one of my safety schools, like Campbell, if I don't get accepted into Carolina. Hopefully I won't have to do that.

I actually have another question. Would my chances decrease if there is another student in my class, a class of 148, that is applying to UNC also, and is planning to major in Pharmacy. She is ranked better than me, at number 3, and will probably have better test scores. I feel that my ECs are a bit better than hers. Anyways, do you think it is likely that I would get rejected and her get accepted because she is applying to the same school for the same major?

I don't think so. Just because you come from the same school does not mean you come from the same background. At UNC they will not only look at test scores, but at ECs, essays, etc. Plus, UNC is 60% female, so males may have a slight advantage in the admission there ase they try to balance out the gender ratio.

Other schools to think about in your region:

South Carolina - match/safety (depending on your SAT)
Shenandoah University - safety
Virginia Commonwealth - safety
Georgia - match

Thanks for all the help. I think I finally have an idea of what colleges to apply to and my chances. Thanks again.

Any further questions, feel free to ask.
