please tell me where i may improve. i just applied to a summer undergraduate research program at University of Nebraska Medical Center, but that sounds kind of unlikely. i’m thinking of applying to Duke TIP this summer, but i’m not sure if that’s “selective” enough. i need some advice as to what i should do this summer; i’m looking for something science related. thanks!

can anyone help me out?

Your weighted GPA seems really low. It doesn’t seem correct actually based on your unweighted GPA and you have taken Ap’s already so it shouldn’t be that low. If it is then that what you really need to work on.
Good Luck

thanks. my school actually limits the amount of AP’s you can take. freshman year: 0, sophomore year: 1, junior year: 3. so i have taken the max i can… that kinda sucks, but it’s my school’s rule so i can’t do much.

Your ACT score is fine. Work on getting high SAT II scores.

Looking at the info you’ve given your application looks almost identical to mine did in the numerical categories (ACT, amount and score on APs) Also, we have the same-ish amount of extracurriculars and my community service is identical. So, having said that, I was accepted Early Decision this year. I don’t know about your chances regular decision, but know it’s possible. Also, a huge factor for or against are going to be your essays. There’ll be a Common App and a supplemental essay. Give them your best shot and cross your fingers. I wish you the best of luck and keep up the good work! :)

thanks everyone. your help is greatly appreciated.
