I'm a Junior at a large low-performing high school in Tri-State Area (I'm middle class and white)

SAT: 2300+ (based of psat)
SATII: 730, 760, 760, one more that is not so stellar (does it count, considering they ask for 3?)
Rank: top 10 students of ~512
APs: 5/4/4/5

ECs:Prez of Investment Club, Prez of Student Gov, Prez of NHS, Mock Trial Capt, science research at nyu, volunteering, internship w/ politician, finance internship in manhattan, Varsity Tennis (not that great though)

Any chances? Advice? Is it recommended for a student of my mediocore credentials (for HARVARD, YALE, PRINCETON!) and from my poor school to apply EASC to H? or is that a disadvantage because of the stiff competition?
Be honest.. If HYP and Ivys are totally out of my league, which colleges should I look at?
I'm looking to major in statistics or econ..
Thanks, in advance!!!

I'd say you have chances at the Ivies but they might be some big reaches. I'd try just bellow them, like Columbia, Rochester, Dartmouth, Brown-all with excelent Econ programs. If your tried lib. arts colleges you'd probably get some good money from Williams, Pomona, of Claremont McKenna-all excelent econ again.

as for the SAT II's, if you don't send in the bad score it won't matter at all because they wont see it.

I don't think that's possible. The score report listing all of the scores include ALL scores from ALL test dates.

Any advice? Also, how do I look for wharton? Frankly, I'm not sure whether I want econ or business (i.e. wharton/stern)?

You have the numbers but lack a hook.

I agree. So where does that put me?

Your SAT II scores really aren't that bad - although every student that gets a 790 or an 800 on their SAT IIs will tell you that you have to ace your SAT IIs in order to get into the schools that you want, you really don't. Anything above a 700 is very respectable, and anything near or above a 750 is great. Colleges don't want you to make getting that 800 on an SAT II an extra curricular, and won't reward you for doing so. If you get an 800 - great, but don't make that a goal.

In terms of your chances - I have a friend that got into Princeton with little more than a 3.9, captain of tennis team (won maybe 2 state champions for the school.. kind of - along with the rest of the team obviously), national honor society, and was a legacy. But other than that, he really didn't have much. If your essays are GOOD, then you have a decent chance. We really don't know what colleges will want in a certain year (other than the obvious items), and you may indeed have what they want.

I would definitely apply to those top schools, but I'd also make sure that you apply to a few safties that you know you'll be happy at. Improving the ECs would be your best bet for improved chances, I think.

try uc berkeley, its top notch at business and very decent at econ

Not that you necessarily need a hook, but you need a reason for them to pick you and not the other kid with high stats. Essays, ECs, that's where those come in.
