Chances for a junior

Stats:

Currently a junior. Hispanic in Florida
Top 15% at a pretty competitive school
Unweighted GPA: 3.25
Weighted GPA: 4.025
SAT Score: 1300 (660 CR; 640 M; 690 W)

I did really bad in ninth grade, which is why my gpa is so low. I raised my unweighted from a 2.5 at the end of ninth grade to a 3.25 now.

Senior year Schedule:
AP Euro
AP Govt
AP Macro
AP Calc AB
AP Lit
AP Psych

Pretty much have no ECs or sports...

Chances:
University of Florida
University of Central Florida
Florida State University

Also, can anyone give me any schools that accept stats similar to mine?
Thank you:)

Your SAT scores are around the 75 percentile for UCF and FSU, a little lower for Florida. I'd say your good for all three though if your in the top 15% in your class. Your GPA is pretty low though for all three maybe not as much UCF. I'd say you have a good chance at all of them judging by your stats.

Thanks.
Should i re-take SAT's for UF?
And should I take SAT IIs? Would they help my chances?

easily in, no doubt

Do you really think I'm easily in UF?

since they are public schools I don't think there is a reason to take the SAT II's. I think your SAT score for Florida is still over like the 60th percentile or so.

15 percent=3.25=GPA=Pretty Competative School???

Yes?
That's my unweighted, and it's like that because I had some regular classes in tenth grade.

I have a 3.4 unweighted at a basic Florida public school and I'm barely in the top 30% at my school. Anyways....

Florida- No
FSU- Good shot
UCF- In

^^^What's your weighted?

I'm not 100% sure I'm top 15%, it's an estimate..which I expect to be pretty accurate..but I KNOW for sure I'm top 20%..

My school was competitive enough for them to eliminate class ranking....and this year's number one had a 6.8..(somehow)..so I would say it's pretty competitive.

^ I don't know if it is the same there as it is in VA, but our entire 15 percent has a 4.0 unweighed, meaning 15 percent of our grade has never gotten a B...ever. I am number 9 and I have had 10 +As and 6 As the last two, so MY school is competative. Your school is not soley based on the fact that our school is competative with 15 percent having a 4.0 while your class's is around 3.4. However, It may be different between out schools, but you can look at newsweeks top high schools. Mine is ranked 48 this year, used to be 19. So, if you are in the top 100, then yes, your school is competative, if not, it is not so comepetative.

Sorry for misspelled words, I am a horrible speller... :)

Well in Florida, where I go and where I am applying, my school is pretty competitive. Especially in Miami and considering my class has 800 people. How many does yours have? And I don't think competitiveness is based solely on if you're in newsweeks top high schools...

Bump. Any more chances?

easily in, you might want to look at UGA as well

Bump(10char)

Anyone else interested in chancing someone NOT going to HYPblahblahblah schools?

Hmm... I think you're in for all three, just bring that SAT up a few points to be comfortably within UF's range :)

Also... I really don't think your school is that competetive. I have a 3.7 unweighted and I am just outside my schools top 15%. My friend goes to a Dallas charter school and he has a 4.4 weighted and is not even top 10%.

Well, I guess mine's not as competitive as I thought lol.

Okay..last bump. Anyone else?
