Very good.

I got into the CSOM with a lesser GPA, a lesser SAT score, and even fewer extracurriculars.

But you never know what BC would be looking for each year…

Dear username101 : Take a look at this new feature from college confidential

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/profiles/2013/boston-college

On the surface, your numbers seem good on the tests, but your weakest point appears to be on the unweighted average - although your school might not rank, you had better validate that you are in the top 10% of your graduating class. From a well-roundedness perspective, consider that your application does not demonstrate any sports or intramural sports activities. Although you list Indian Classical Music, does that mean you play an instrument or otherwise contribute? You clearly have demonstrated the business desire with your clubs and such.

Since we have just come through the admissions cycle, it is hard to get geared up for another round of early junior “chance-me” threads, so apologies for the shorter review than normal.

Just ask yourself one question : what do you add to the campus fabric that would make it a mistake for BC to pass you by ? You have demonstrated what BC can do for you in terms of CSOM matching your background … now, what can you give back to make the BC community stronger, not just in the classroom, but overall?

ScottJ, I would like to mention that I did not play a sport officially myself either (other than the casual basketball game with friends).

I recommend obtaining a excellent letters of recommendation. I think that is possibly the only reason I was admitted into BC. Ensure that your essay is top notch, too. Prove to the admissions board that you are not simply a bunch of statistics on a piece of paper, but that you are also a person with the same hopes, fears, and aspirations as the next. Prove to them that you will make an excellent contribution to the BC community.

That is all I can say, from experience.

You look good

BC is looking for diversity and in that context, you look good to me. I am from South Asian continent (close to India) and I got in with only 560,490 and 540. I believe for BC diversity plays a major rule.
