Chances for a Junior?

Ethnicity: Asian (Indian)
Gender: Male
School Type: Public, sends many grads to top schools</p>

<p>Stats:
GPA: 3.6 UW, 4.1 W
SAT: 800 M, 690 CR, 730 W (1490/2220)
SAT II: Will take Bio and Math II
AP: Will take Bio and US Hist
Courseload: Will have taken 5 APs and 10 Honors by end of high school.
School does not have class rank or percentile.</p>

<p>So what are my chances for Stern and CAS?</p>

<p>Somewhat lacking in executive board leadership positions but as long you have some it’s good. </p>

<p>GPA and SATs are good enough for admittance. </p>

<p>Some say being asian is bad because we are a majority here at NYU but since so many asians come here, I say you have a higher chance of getting in as an asian. NYU admissions probably does not focus on what ethnicity you are.</p>

<p>The essay is probably the most determining factor at this point for admissions.</p>

<p>You don’t happen to go to JP Stevens do you? Haha</p>

<p>You’re in good shape for Stern. I got in with less stats than that except for GPA, and I had a few leadership things.</p>

<p>No I dont go to JP, but I would have gone to Edison HS if I still lived there. Where do you go?</p>
