chances for a more average student..

fyi, my friend and i share this account, which is why there are two chances threads up from the same name

anyway,

white female

SATs- 2210
ACT- 32 (taking it again though)
PSAT high enough to get national merit semifinalist in my state
don't do class rank, but probably almost top 10%

I'm currently a junior IB diploma candidate.
I took 2 APs sophomore year- APUSH (4) and stat (4)

GPA- 3.7 UW and 4.4 W

ECs-
-number one on varsity tennis team for all 4 years.. captain for one
-speech and debate
-NHS
-st marys scholars (summer enrichment program)
-volunteer with special olympics (over 50 hours this year)
-2 different club tennis teams
-have had at least one job throughout all of highschool

schools I'm interested in:
-wake forest
-vanderbilt
-pomona
-davidson
-rice
-elon
-florida (honors college)
-university of richmond

oh and i'm interested in studying engineering

Since when does an average student get a 2200 on the SAT and 4.4 weighted GPA?

well i guess average by CC standards
my UW gpa especially

I agreee that your standardized test scores are MUCH better than average... they'll probably help your GPA look better (although it's solid as well). If you're interested in playing tennis in college, be sure to talk to the coaches because that could give you a leg up in the admissions process as a recruited athlete.

Chances on a scale of: high reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

Wake Forest University... LIKELY.
Vanderbilt University... GOOD FIT.
Pomona College... SEMI-REACH.
Davidson College... GOOD FIT.
Rice University... REACH.
Elon University... LIKELY.
University of Florida... GOOD FIT.
University of Richmond... LIKELY.

There is nothing really average about you. I would look into applying to more reach colleges (at least one high reach).

by high reach do you mean duke, perhaps cause i loveee that school

anyone else?

yeah really average

loser

I wish I was average

by "more average" i meant in comparison to my friend ari, since we share this account and she put up a chances thread as well.. go check it out and you'll see why i said i was average

I only know about UF, and I say you have an excellent chance (90% or above) of getting in- I would say that it's a safety. You have the GPA, the test scores, and the great ECs that they look for. UF adores star athletes, and your volunteering and other activites are just icing on the cake. Good luck applying!

thanks lorraine!
