Chances for a NH native

Hey guys. I've been religiously reading this forum for any input I could get for myself but I have finally realized that my attributes are unique. I would appreciate it greatly if anyone could give me some realistic advice. I have talked to two guidance officers in my school and both of them have said completley opposite things. My parents are convinced I should apply to every Ivy, but I believe that could just be a waste. Anyway, here I am on paper...

American Male
Attend one of the best public schools in New Hampshire
GPA UW: 3.85

Freshman Courses: Advanced Writing, Geometry, Latin 1, Psychology, and required science and humanities courses.

Sophmore Courses: Algebra II, Chemistry, Latin II, and required science and humanities courses.

Junior Courses: Pre-Calculus, Physics, Latin III, AP European History, and required humanities course.

Plan for Senior Year (expect to get all As) AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Literary and Comprehension, World Religions, Art 1 (need it for state requirment), and required humanities course.

Total APs: 4
School does not have honors classes (I know, it's weird)

SATs: Took them once in 7th grade, and once in 9th. I will be taking them this year (11th) and expect to get 700-750 in each subject.

As far as ECs go...
JV soccer 9, 10
Varsity soccer 10, 11
Super Y soccer league 10 (best league in New England)
Indoor soccer (9, 10, 11, 12)
Started Soccer club (president)
High Honors and Principle List every quarter (top 10% of class)
Taught Immigrants and made them feel more comfortable in US
Took a John's Hopkins summer course in flight science
If I get in, will take an extensive 6 week course on Astronomy, taught at St. Pauls school, arguably one of the best high schools in the nation.
Also, additional community service throughout the rest of junior and senior year

Colleges I am looking into: Ivys, NYU, Duke, Stanford, U Chicago, U Michigan, U Wisconsin, Berkeley, USC, Tulane, Northwestern

Colleges I feel I have a very good shot at: Syracuse, Villanova, BU, UNH

Anyway, thats it. If there is something I need to clarify please let me know. I know I cannot express myself or my transcript from this alone, but any input into my odds of getting into these colleges (or similar ones) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Realistic advise:

Applying to every Ivy is absurd. They are all extremely difficult to get into. You'll most likely be rejected by most. Besides, not every Ivy will necessarily have the major you want, and not every Ivy is top rated in all specialties. For example, the engineering schools at Yale, Brown, and Dartmouth are rated considerably lower than the engineering school at Purdue.

If you're looking at Northwestern, you should also take a look at Washington University in St. Louis. It's a very good school, rated 12th in the U.S. by U.S. News, with a top-rated faculty, a beautiful campus, really nice dorms, and lots of smart, friendly kids.

Nobody can give you a reasonable assessment of your chances at any school without seeing current SAT scores. Repost with the scores when you get them.

I applied to St. Paul's ASP too!! Astronomy was my third choice so I'm basically guaranteed NOT to get that one.

Sorry, I just haven't see anyone else on CC who applied. I can't actually offer and help. But hopefully I'll see you at St. Paul's this summer!

@amptron2x, yeah i agree with you. To be honest, I would like to study the math and sciences in college specifically physics and astronomy. I know predicting my chances are tough without my SAT scores but I am fairly confident I can get 700+ in both math and witing and 650+ in CR.

@lilyrobin, Saint Paul's program is gonna be real good. Everyone I talked to said it was one of the better expeiriences in life. Hope to see you there.

I know academically I am not perfect but I do beleive I have a chance at some of the top schools. Also the constant theme of soccer will hopefully help. Any more comments and/or chances would be great.

Bump for a little more advice
