Hey guys, this is my first time checking out the site and it is addicting. Just thought I would throw it out there and see what you all think. UT is my number one choice but the others are either fallbacks or attempts at fallbacks or hopeful wishes. Thanks :)

UT Austin--(in-state) Match to Slight Reach (but only because of all the AP courses)
Texas A&M--Match
Texas Christian University--Safe Match
RICE--Slight Reach
UCLA--(OOS) Reach
USC--Slight Reach to Reach

Cool thanks, yeah I was hoping my course makeup would make a strong candidate for UT. Any suggestions to put me over the board with UT Austin, within now and application time? Also, what does OOS mean? Haha, thanks again.

Texas/A and M have the "top 10" percent rule, making it hard for those out of the top 10 percent of their high school classes to get in.

Nice AP courseload, but it doesn't help much when applying in state at TX and CA. They look at class rank almost exclusively.

UCLA has 94% instate and 97% in top 10 percent of class.

Rice has 83% (in top 10%). UT is 69% and A and M 45%.

In for sure at TCU and A and M.
Maybe at UT. Read up on the top 10% law to make sure, though. They might have edited the law to cap the number of people eligible for it. Otherwise, it's not exactly "holistic admissions".
Possibly at USC and Rice, not likely.
Demographics hurt big time at UCLA.

I hope in for all. Class rank emphasis for these schools makes me sick. Very impressive otherwise.

Yeah, the top 10% rule... frustrating. Oh and by the way, I was going to go major Biology/pre-med and for my second major choice was thinking philosophy to go Law afterwards. Any other chances from some nice folks?

Relax, or you'll go crazy before April 30! It looks like you have a good variety of schools---I agree with the others' assessment of your chances.
Class rank brings you down, but you have a lot of other strengths to compensate. (except about the TX 10% thing, which kind of sucks!)
