Chances for a repeat sophomore (as compared to a junior applicant)

Happy to hear it. We live in SF, which is very accepting. Our kids have had trans classmates since 4th or 5th grade, which is unusual, as you probably know. Thacher is very accepting, too (and all freshmen have singles) though I understand you REALLY love the idea of New England winters

@CaliMex Oh you know it  Connecticut is a stretch, I’m not sure how much my dad would like me going to California… it’s a nice thought though. Summer and spring all year round is veeery tempting.

Maybe your Dad would like an excuse to visit you in Cali when it gets cold in Indiana?

@CaliMex Lol I’ll definitely look into Thacher but I’m not sure if he’ll budge… doesn’t hurt to try!

A little update: I was chosen as the top marketing student in my DECA chapter and given the position in a fundraising campaign competition against cancer! I am very excited to do it. Should I email schools and update them with this information? I’m also automatically qualifying for DECA states; should I say that as well? I would wait until the outcome of each but both of them are after M10.

Little late to the party, but I’d say you have a pretty good chance. Your grades and test scores are there, and you have a lot of EC’s. I think your “hook” would be your story, so I would make sure to showcase that in your essays and interviews. It’s very unusual and sets you apart from all the other applicants. Also, repeating 10th is a good move. I’d say your only weakness is not showing a passion in any one particular area, but I think everything else makes up for it. Good luck!

@ThomasBr Thanks, I really appreciate it! Good luck to you too!

Officially got my SSAT scores back: 2316, 779V/782Q/755R, 98C/95V/89Q/95R!
