What are my chances at...

Furman University (Seeking ROTC Scholarship)
Wake Forest University (Seeking ROTC Scholarship)
UNC Chapel Hill (Seeking ROTC Scholarship)
College of Charleston
Coastal Carolina University
Winthrop University (Seeking ROTC Scholarship)
American University
Guilford College

Can I get in at any of these places???

I haven't heard of any of those university except UNC and Wake Forest.
UNC CH- Reach..Match if your from NC
Wake Forest- Match/Slight Reach

You seriously think I could get into Wake Forest? Wow...

And American is one of the top 50 in the country, it's in DC. Furman is basically Wake Forest, only 10 grand cheaper lol. The others are state/regional colleges (backups for if I don't get into my top 3).

Furman you could probably get in along with Winthrop, CoC, Coastal, American, Guilford. If you are out of state I'm sorry to be blunt but you have no shot at UNC-CH, even in-state its a slight reach. Wake is a reach as well.

You are not average either lol, if you were average your SAT would be about 1020 and you'd be in the 50% of your class. CC really skews your idea of average.

What about my chances of getting an ROTC scholarship? Even if I do get in at Furman or Wake Forest, I won't be able to pay for it without the ROTC scholarship...

UNC CH is impossible unless ur in state, especially w/ ur scores

Well, I'm taking the SAT again in October, so I'm sure I'll do better. I hadn't even finished Geometry by the time I took it in the spring, so I know I'll do better, at least with the math part.

I pretty much have the same stats as you, except my gpa is 3.8 and my sat is only 1850.

Furman and Wake --Reach
Chapel Hill - Slight Reach if in-state, no chance out of state
Youll get in all the rest though. Guilford College gave me a $40,000 merit scholarship. It's extremely extremely laid back there though.

For Winthrop, you should get in just fine. I have even less ECs than you, but I have a higher GPA and rank. Even still, I have no doubt that you would be accepted there, I've just been accepted there for fall 2006. The others though, I haven't applied to because I have a slim chance.

ull get into american butits about 68% female..if that makes ucahnge ur mind. Im a girl, and thats wht turned me off about it

@lulubelle:

I don't think many guys would turn down a reputable school with 68% Female :)

I think tha College of Charleston is a definate possibility. Your class schedule indicates that you either are not challanging yourself enough, or that you havent found an interest that you want to pursue. That could turn a college off, so you may want to consider indicating a particular interest of yours in your essay or EC resume just to let them know that you arent just a student, but rather a student with interests and goals/dreams. Your SATS are definately high enough for them though, but the schools reputation has been growing considerably over the past couple of years.
