Chances for a transfer?

I am currently a student at the College of Central Florida, just a short car ride from Gainesville. I am looking to apply to the online program for Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, which starts Summer B 2012. I will also apply to the campus program of the same major for Fall 2012.

I will be graduating from CF in Spring 2012, majoring in Pre- Physical Therapy. I will also be a transient student with Santa Fe College to finish my physics pre-requisites for the DPT.

GPA: 4.0

Volunteer: I volunteer at a local school for children with disabilities. I will be putting some hours in at the hospital and also a private practice. I plan on getting a lot more volunteer/ observation hours.

Extracurriculars: Community of Scholars Honors Program at CF, Phi Theta Kappa (running for Vice- President) and Ecology Club. (We really do not have much to choose from here.)

The advisors at my school do not tell me what I need, unless I ask them very specifically. I don't know if there are any tests that I need to take before applying (GRE?) and when exactly to apply. I saw the deadline for Fall 2012 is March 1, but my advisor said I don't need to apply until April, so...yea.

I am a very non-traditional student. I graduated high school in 2006, came back to college in 2010 and I have a three-year old son. I don't know if these will affect my chances of getting admitted, I certainly hope not.

Any sort of help, personal stories, shoot-downs, etc. would be quite helpful. Thanks!

Let’s just say I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in. Don’t listen to your adviser about that deadline… follow the deadlines on UFs site and make sure you’re going to have all the pre-reqs for the program, this is very important. Oh, and no you don’t need any tests before hand for a bachelors degree. GRE is for graduate degrees.

Thank you so much! I’m pretty sure I trust the people on these forums more than my own advisors. I have already finished the pre-requisites for the Bachelor’s program, I am just finishing up my 60 hours and the rest of the pre-reqs for the DPT.

Eventually I will have to take the GRE then, right?

Yeah I went to CF too… CC advisers can be totally clueless and are 99% of the time useless.

As far as the GRE, if you are planning on going on to grad school after you finish your bachelors degree then yes you will need to take it sometime during that time
