Good stats but why Math 1 c, I think IIC is preferred, Dartmouth and Duke are always a lottery for anyone but NYU and Northwestern should be a go. Good luck!

ey. i heard dartmouth was in the process of upgrading their music program so it led me to be captivated to their college application . lmao. any other schools that might be a great match for a guy like me?

also, i was thinking about looking into boston college cuz dere avg. students match me. do they have a good music program ? ( also i am going into vocal, not instrument . what i am going to do with vocal.. i do not know. mayb music education, performance, composition, etc. i really do not know yet. )

You should have a solid chance at getting into U-Mich, they have a solid vocal program and since it's relatively small you should get lots of one one one attention with teachers (one of my orientation leaders was a vocal major). I suggest looking into U-Rochester since it's known for it's music programs and usually gives good financial aid (if that's something you might need).

Geez, you're busy! I don't know about Dartmouth, but everywhere else you want is fine...dunno if NYU would necessarily be the best school for a music major. Checking out Boston College is a good idea. I definitely think you should broaden your search because you have some good things going!

nyu tisch.. i heard they dont provide a solid music major program. They have something like recording engineer degree or something. but I do not think they provide something solid in music such as music education, performance, etc.
Also , do you think its neccessary to go to a prestigious school with good academics AND a good music program? these days, i have been wondering to change my school list since i have a few months left before i start applying. im not shure schools like nyu, dartmouth, northwestern, etc. would be good schools to pursue a MUSIC MAJOR b/c of its cost. to sum it up, i dont know if its worth the money going to an expensive school for a music major. i mean of course if it was something like business , you can attend a school like NYU b/c manifestly, it is definitely worth it in most cases. but music major..? haha. more advice and insight please.

actually you can do a lot with vocal...besides being a teacher u can double major with the school of business and start ur own company things like that...so if thats what u like go for it and kno it isnt closing ur doors

Wouldn't that be really stressful though pimp10? I mean i'm not saying any college experience wouldn't be arduous and laborious but fulfilling business AND music requirements. jeesh. haha. i would imagine the person being stuck in the dorm reading books and doing research papers all day long and than start practicing vocals at the same time, etc. etc.

of course it is going to be hard...double majoring in the same school is already hard...but im sure that it can be done without ruining your college experience...and you will be much more prepared for life afterwards and you will have many more opportunities...
you can start by doing music and then if you like the business side and find double majoring doable then u can do it and if not then u didnt lose anything

Well if you want to have colleges that are completely focused on pure music, then go to a performances school like Juilliard or Curtis- but these schools are hell to get in.

no.. iwantfood. i definitely do not desire to attend conservatories solely for music. i believe music and some humanities course will shape a person up to his potential. Just Music would not make a person full.
