I was just wondering how you would chance a URM female with a 3.7uw gpa (I know it's low), high SATs, good teacher recs, essays, ECs etc. Will my URM status + my gender + aplying ED I help boost my chances?

It can help if you are reasonably qualified. If you are well below the 25% accepted range and do not have an exceptional talent or something that makes you unique ,it may not help.
It also depends if the institution that you are applying is making a good faith effort to add to it’s “under represented”.I don’t know anything about CM diversity profile. Schools that have 2-3% representation of your minority may actually not be looking to add to the group if you are are not qualified, that’s why they have low URM enrollment in the first place. It also depends on your competition within that under represented group when you apply.

To summarize ,URM will it will help at some schools. It wont at others. You wont find which school until you apply. But don’t count on your status to boost at any specific situation.
BTW, female usually are overrepresented at most colleges that dont have strong engineering or business programs.

Thanks.

bump.

I think you have a shot. But don’t expect it to get you all the way in.
